Lately I’ve been paying more attention to wellness technology that works at home, especially devices designed to support skincare and recovery without clinic visits.
As I get older, I’ve also started thinking more about long-term skin health and practical ways to build those habits into everyday life.
That’s where the TheraFace Mask Glo makes sense.
It combines red, infrared and blue LED light therapy in a lightweight cordless design, with short 12-minute treatment sessions that make it easier to use regularly without feeling like a chore.

Living With It
One of the first things you notice about the TheraFace Mask Glo is how lightweight it feels compared to many LED masks.
Some can feel bulky or rigid, but this one is light enough that it doesn’t feel like a chore to put on a few times a week.
Therabody’s second-generation redesign helps here.
The original TheraFace Mask used more LEDs, but the newer Glo version reduces the LED count slightly and so runs a longer 12-minute treatment session instead.
The mask uses a cordless dual headstrap system, with straps running over the top and across the back of your head. Once adjusted, it stays in place well without shifting.
Personally, I tend to use it as a short break during the day rather than walking around with it on. I’ll usually close my eyes, lie back and let the 12-minute session become a forced pause in the middle of the day.
That has actually become part of the appeal.
The mask itself doesn’t get hot, although if you’re breathing heavily inside it, it can start to feel a little warm during longer use.
USB-C charging is also a small but welcome convenience.

Treatment Modes
The mask combines three types of LED light therapy:
- Red light: Aimed at supporting skin firmness and reducing wrinkles
- Infrared light: Designed to support collagen production and skin repair
- Blue light: Commonly used to target acne-causing bacteria
In practice, I suspect most people will spend most of their time using the red and infrared modes, which tend to be the focus for general skin maintenance and anti-ageing routines.
You can also skip treatments easily using the button on the side of the mask.
Worth Knowing
The mask includes two small vibration motors in the headband that provide a gentle temple massage during use.
The good news is you can turn this off, which is what I tend to do.
The buzzing sits quite close to your ears, and I found it more distracting than relaxing. Once disabled, the whole experience feels calmer.
The box it comes in is fairly bulky, but the mask itself doesn’t feel delicate at all. I’ve been storing mine in a repurposed Aesop drawstring bag, though it could just as easily be tucked into a sock drawer or cupboard without worrying about it getting damaged.

Results
I’ve been using the mask for a couple of months, usually around three times a week.
LED masks are not instant miracle devices, but with regular use I did notice my skin feeling smoother and calmer, with fewer red patches.
Overall, my skin tone now looks a little more even.
The 12-minute sessions make it much easier to stick with the routine consistently.
And with this kind of skincare technology, consistency is really the whole point.
Pricing
The TheraFace Mask Glo has an RRP of $499 AUD.
Like a lot of consumer wellness tech, it’s often discounted during retail sales, and I’ve regularly seen promotions taking $50 to $100 AUD off.
It’s available directly from Therabody, as well as retailers including JB Hi-Fi and David Jones.
Verdict
The TheraFace Mask Glo is a well-designed LED face mask that makes light therapy feel easier to stick with at home.
It’s lightweight, simple to use and doesn’t feel overly clinical, which makes it far more likely to become part of a regular routine instead of ending up forgotten in a cupboard.
At $499 AUD, it’s not cheap, and LED therapy still depends on consistent long-term use rather than instant results.
But if you’re looking for an at-home LED mask that feels easy enough to actually use regularly, the TheraFace Mask Glo strikes a smart balance between performance and comfort.
