Apple has unveiled iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 at WWDC 2026, with the company's biggest announcement centred around a new AI-powered version of Siri.

Called Siri AI, Apple describes the assistant as more personal, more capable and better able to help users complete everyday tasks. The new assistant is powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and is designed to understand a user's personal context across their devices.

Unlike traditional voice assistants that primarily search the web, Siri AI can draw information from messages, emails, notes, photos and calendar events stored on a user's device. Apple says users can ask Siri to find a photo from years ago, locate an important email buried in their inbox or retrieve details from a note simply by asking.
Apple also demonstrated more natural conversations with Siri AI, allowing users to ask open-ended questions, brainstorm ideas and continue conversations without repeatedly rephrasing requests.

The company says Apple Intelligence is also becoming more deeply integrated throughout its operating systems. Apps including Photos, Messages and Safari are gaining new AI-powered capabilities, while Visual Intelligence is expanding to iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro.

Beyond Apple Intelligence, the new software releases also introduce updates across Apple's platforms, including redesigned interfaces, new child safety tools and additional features for productivity, communication and accessibility.
Privacy remained a major theme throughout Apple's presentation. Apple says requests are processed either directly on-device or through its Private Cloud Compute infrastructure, and that personal user data is not shared with third-party AI providers.
The new software updates are currently available in developer beta, with public betas expected next month. iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 are scheduled to launch later this year.
