Ring Intercom Launches in Australia, Bringing Smart Access to Apartment Buildings

Ring has launched Ring Intercom in Australia, giving apartment residents a way to answer their building intercom, speak to visitors and unlock the front entrance remotely using the Ring app.

Essentials

  • Designed for apartments with compatible intercom systems
  • See and speak to visitors through the Ring app
  • Remotely unlock building entrances from anywhere
  • Quick Replies for visitors and delivery drivers
  • DIY installation with no structural changes required
  • Available now for AU$189

What’s New?

Ring Intercom connects to an existing apartment intercom system and lets residents manage building access from their smartphone.

Using the Ring app, users can see who’s at the entrance, speak with visitors and unlock the building door whether they’re at home or away.

Ring has also added Quick Replies, allowing users to send pre-recorded messages when they can’t answer. This could be useful for parcel deliveries or letting visitors know you’ll be back soon.

Ring says the device can be installed in under 45 minutes and doesn’t require any structural changes, making it suitable for renters as well as homeowners.

Because Ring Intercom is designed to work with existing building intercom systems, compatibility will vary between apartment buildings. Ring provides an online compatibility checker so residents can confirm whether their intercom system is supported before purchasing.
