We live in a world that constantly asks us to add more.

  • More screens.
  • More subscriptions.
  • More notifications.
  • More devices.

Tech That Fits asks a different question:

What deserves a place in our homes, our routines, and our attention?

The Idea

Created by Melbourne-based technology enthusiast Mark Alexander, Tech That Fits explores technology through the lens of design, small-space living and everyday life.

Mark has been fascinated by technology since he was a teenager. Long before smartphones and smart homes became mainstream, he was the kid pulling computers apart, experimenting with gadgets, and finding excuses to fill his bedroom with wires, gadgets, and glowing screens.

Today, he shares a compact Melbourne apartment with his partner Colin Chee, creator of Never Too Small. Living in a small space, and being surrounded by conversations about architecture, design, and how people live, helped shape a simple belief:

Every item in a home should earn its place.

That idea became the foundation for Tech That Fits.

More Than Just Technology

The site covers smart home products, consumer technology, travel gear, health tech, and everyday devices through a practical lens. Not just what a product can do, but whether it’s worth the space, money, energy, and attention it demands.

Because “fit” means more than physical size.

It’s about finding technology that fits your home, your lifestyle, and your values.

Finding Balance

Technology has never been more capable, but it’s also never been more demanding. We spend more time than ever looking at screens, managing notifications, upgrading devices, and navigating an endless stream of information.

Tech That Fits is interested in the other side of that conversation too.

How do we create better balance between online and offline?

When does technology genuinely improve our lives, and when does it simply add noise?

How can good design help us live better in smaller spaces?

How can we get more value from the technology we already own instead of constantly replacing it?

And what older technologies still deserve a place in a modern home?

These questions shape everything covered here.

The Tech That Fits Philosophy

Sometimes the answer is the latest smart home gadget.

Sometimes it’s a beautifully designed object.

Sometimes it’s a twenty-year-old device that still works perfectly.

And sometimes the best technology is no technology at all.

Tech That Fits isn’t about having more technology.

It’s about finding the right technology.

The technology that earns its place.
