Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Orders Are Now Live In Australia

Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Orders Are Now Live In Australia

After more than a decade of waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI is finally available to pre-order.

Rockstar's next blockbuster is scheduled to launch on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Australian retailers beginning to publish pre-orders details overnight.

At the time of writing, BIG W is offering the lowest advertised price we've found at $125 AUD, although we expect pricing and promotions to fluctuate throughout the day as retailers compete for pre-orders.

Two Editions Available

Players can choose between two versions of the game:

Standard Edition - $129.95 AUD

Ultimate Edition - $159.95 AUD

For an extra $30, the Ultimate Edition adds a collection of single-player bonuses across five categories: vehicles, weapons, shops, an exclusive mission, and additional cosmetic and garage unlocks.

Physical Copies Won't Include A Disc

One detail that may surprise collectors is that physical copies of GTA VI won't actually contain a game disc.

Instead, boxed copies will include a code for a digital download. While some fans still prefer physical media, the move reflects the gaming industry's continued shift towards digital distribution.

Pre-Order Bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack

All currently listed retailers are advertising the Vintage Vice City Pack as a pre-order bonus.

Rockstar says the pack includes a collection of Vice City-inspired in-game items for players who pre-order the game.

Preloading Starts On 12 November

Players who purchase a digital copy will be able to begin preloading GTA VI from 12 November 2026, giving them a full week to download the game before launch day.

A Long Road To Release

The previous game in the series, Grand Theft Auto V, launched back in 2013 and went on to become one of the best-selling video games ever made.

Rockstar officially confirmed it was working on GTA VI in February 2022. Development was later disrupted by a major hack that leaked early development footage online, while the game's release date shifted several times before finally settling on 19 November 2026.

When GTA VI finally launches, it will mark a 13-year gap between mainline entries in the series, making it one of the most anticipated game releases in modern gaming history.
