Samsung is bringing AirDrop-style sharing to the Galaxy S26 series through an update to Quick Share.
The rollout begins on 23rd March in Korea, with more regions including Europe, North America, Japan and Southeast Asia set to follow. It’s launching first on the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra, with support for more devices expected later.
To use it, users will need to enable a new “Share with Apple devices” toggle inside Quick Share settings.
Australia hasn’t been specifically listed yet, but based on previous Samsung rollouts, local availability will likely follow shortly after the initial launch markets.
A Small Change That Solves A Big Frustration
Sharing files between Android and Apple devices has always been awkward, especially in mixed-device households where sending photos or videos often means falling back to cloud storage, messaging apps or email.
This update doesn’t fully unify the ecosystems, but it does make sending files between Galaxy phones and Apple devices much simpler.
It also signals a broader shift across the Android ecosystem. Google has already started moving in this direction with Pixel devices, and Samsung adopting it makes cross-platform sharing feel less like a workaround and more like a standard feature going forward.
