ECOVACS has launched the DEEBOT T80S OMNI in Australia, bringing its newer roller mopping system down to a more accessible $1,799 AUD.
It sits below the flagship range, but carries over one of the company’s bigger recent changes: moving away from spinning mop pads to a single roller design.
Roller Mopping Instead Of Spinning Pads
The T80S OMNI uses ECOVACS’ OZMO Roller 2.0 system, applying up to 3,800Pa of pressure while rotating at 220 RPM.
That added pressure is designed to handle more than light surface cleaning, while TruEdge 3.0 extends cleaning coverage closer to walls and corners. In tighter homes and apartments, that edge coverage is usually where the difference becomes more noticeable.
Adapts To Different Surfaces Automatically
The Triple Lift system adjusts depending on what’s detected on the floor:
- Carpet: mop lifts and suction increases
- Liquid spills: brushes lift to avoid spreading mess
- Large debris: side brush lifts to reduce scatter
There’s also AI Stain Detection 2.0, which can trigger additional cleaning passes for heavier marks or spills.
Suction is rated up to 24,800Pa, alongside ECOVACS’ ZeroTangle 3.0 system designed to reduce hair build-up around the brushes.
Navigation That Stays Closer To Edges
Navigation is handled through AIVI 3D 3.0, using vision-based detection to move around furniture and obstacles while maintaining closer cleaning paths.
The robot itself measures 98mm in height, allowing it to fit under most furniture, and can cross thresholds up to 20mm between rooms.
Hands-Free Maintenance
The included OMNI Station handles most of the ongoing maintenance automatically, including:
- Hot water mop washing
- 63°C hot air drying in around two hours
- Auto dustbin emptying for up to 90 days
- Mop tray maintenance for up to 150 days
The trade-off is the size of the dock itself, which still needs a dedicated spot in the home.
