The Dyson PencilWash is Dyson’s slimmest and lightest wet floor cleaner yet, designed specifically for compact homes with hard floors.
It follows the earlier Dyson PencilVac, expanding Dyson’s pencil-thin design into wet cleaning.

Made For Tight Spaces
The PencilWash is engineered around manoeuvrability. In compact apartments, bulky mop vacs can become a compromise. They clean the floor, but they also take up storage space many homes simply don’t have.

The 3.8cm handle is unusually slim for a powered wet cleaner and feels closer to holding a broom than a traditional floor washer. At 170 degrees lay-flat, it can slide under beds, sofas and low furniture without needing to move everything out of the way.
How The PencilWash Cleans
Unlike many wet floor cleaners, the PencilWash is completely filter-free.
Most wet cleaners rely on sponge-style filters that can trap moisture and dirt over time, leading to odours and reduced performance. Dyson has removed the filter entirely, with cleaning handled through three systems:
- Hydration
- Agitation
- Extraction
A high-density microfibre roller, packed with 64,000 filaments per square centimetre, spins rapidly to lift both wet spills and dry debris at the same time. Dirty water is extracted on every rotation, while an eight-point hydration system continuously supplies fresh water to the roller.
Two hydration modes allow users to adjust water flow depending on whether they are cleaning light kitchen spills or heavier messes.
The smaller design does come with some compromises. With a 300ml clean water tank and up to 30 minutes of runtime, the PencilWash appears aimed more at apartments and smaller hard floor homes rather than large family houses.
