What’s New?

Amazon says the new Kindle Scribe lineup has been redesigned from the ground up, with a thinner 5.4mm body, lighter 400g design, and performance improvements that make writing and page turns up to 40% faster.

The new hardware also includes textured glass for a more paper-like writing feel, slimmer bezels, and a redesigned display that reduces the gap between the pen and screen.

The headline addition is the new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, which adds colour pens, highlights and sketching tools while still keeping Kindle’s distraction-free, paper-like display.

AI Notebook Features

Amazon is also pushing Scribe further into digital notebook territory with new software tools including:

  • AI-powered notebook search
  • AI note summaries
  • Quick Notes from the Home screen
  • Google Drive and OneDrive document support
  • OneNote export
  • Folder and workspace organisation

Pricing and Availability

The new Kindle Scribe lineup is available for pre-order now in Australia. It will be released on 10th June 2026.

Tech That Fits Take

The colour screen grabs attention, but Kindle Scribe still feels most interesting as a distraction-free digital notebook. If you want something for reading, writing and note-taking without apps and notifications constantly getting in the way, this lineup looks more compelling than before.
