Instead, boxed copies will include a code for a digital download. Rockstar says the pack includes a collection of Vice City-inspired in-game items for players who pre-order the game. ## Preloading Starts On 12 November Players who purchase a digital copy will be able to begin preloading GTA VI from **12 November 2026**, giving them a full week to download the game before launch day. ## A Long Road To Release The previous game in the series, **Grand Theft Auto V**, launched back in 2013 and went on to become one of the best-selling video games ever made. Rockstar officially confirmed it was working on GTA VI in February 2022\. Development was later disrupted by a major hack that leaked early development footage online, while the game's release date shifted several times before finally settling on **19 November 2026**.
