If left entirely to my own instincts, I would have filled my home with electronics from floor to ceiling. Somewhere in the drawer right now, I've still got a tangled nest of technology that never earned its place - charges for devices I no longer own and gadgets that promised to simplify something, and then didn't. The difference now is that my home is a compact Melbourne apartment that I share with my partner Colin (the creator of Never Too Small). Today, we're the kind of people who put googly eyes on our fridge and give the robotic vacuum a funny name, but every new piece of tech I bring through the door has to survive the raised eyebrow of someone who films the world's best designed small homes for a living. That eyebrow, more or less, is the founding editorial policy of Tech That Fits. My fascination with technology sparked early - I was the kid who pulled the family computer apart to see how it worked. For the past decade, that curiosity has had a day job working in Melbourne's short-stay industry, helping hotels and Airbnb hosts with their interior fit-outs and the technology that went inside them. That experience taught me to evaluate technology from someone else’s perspective, balancing ease of use and durability against the realities of a limited budget. Living small, surrounded by daily conversations about architecture, design, and how people actually live, shaped a simple belief; every item in a home should earn its place. Technology is the category that fails this test most often, and usually most expensively. We live in a world that constantly asks us to add more - more screens, more subscriptions, more notifications, more devices - and the traditional tech press mostly cheers it all on. This site asks a quieter question instead: what actually deserves a place in our homes, our routines, and our attention? Sometimes the answer is the latest smart home gadget. Sometimes it's a twenty-year-old device that still works perfectly, or no technology at all. "Fit" means more than physical dimensions; it's whether a product justifies the space, money, and attention it demands - and how it leaves you feeling. Technology should take the stress out of a home, not add its own. Somewhere along the way, I also became the designated tech guy for friends and family - the one who gets the "why does my smart TV feel so stupid?" and "which robot vacuum is least likely to eat my rug?" text messages. Plenty of what's reviewed here is chosen with those exact conversations in mind. In most categories, I find there are three honest recommendations, and they're rarely the same product: the one I'd buy for myself, the one I'd suggest to a friend, and the one I'd setup for my mum and thankfully never have to hear about again. So that's what you'll find here. We've made a site for the curious and the uninitiated, without the stuffy pretension. You will find reviews of products I've actually lived with (tested in the apartment above, out and about with me daily, and on trips abroad with Colin); news that translates corporate announcements into what they actually mean for real homes and real budgets; and guides for getting more from the technology you already own instead of replacing it. Tech That Fits is independent, reader-focused, and just getting started. If you think I've got something wrong, know a product that deserves a look, or simply want to tell me about the ancient gadget still earning its place in your home, I'd love to hear; [mark@techthatfits.net](mailto:mark@techthatfits.net) Thanks for being here early. Buy less, choose well, and keep only the technology that earns its place - the tech that truly fits. Mark Alexander ### Editorial Policy URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/ Last updated: 2026-07-19T14:59:27.000Z ### Last updated: July 2026 Tech That Fits covers technology, design and products for small-space living and everyday life, with a focus on products that combine function, usability and thoughtful design. ## **H**ow Reviews Are Tested Reviews are based on extended real-world use - in a real home, on real commutes and real trips - not lab benchmarks or spec sheets. Products are used the way readers would use them, for long enough to know whether they earn their place. Products seen only briefly - at media events, briefings or showroom visits - are covered as news or first impressions, and are clearly framed as such. They are never presented as full reviews. A full review is only published after extended real-world use, regardless of how the product was sourced. ## Editorial Independence Editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, affiliate partners and product manufacturers. Receiving products, event access, briefing materials or travel support does not guarantee coverage or positive coverage. No company sees or approves coverage before it is published. Tech That Fits honours press embargoes. Embargo access never influences coverage decisions or verdicts. ### Product Sourcing Products featured on Tech That Fits may be: - purchased by Tech That Fits; - loaned for review; - gifted by brands; - demonstrated during media events, briefings or showroom visits; - accessed through the Never Too Small studio (see below). Every review, hands-on and first impressions piece states, in a short disclosure line, how the product was sourced. Products encountered only at media events or showroom visits are eligible for news and first-impressions coverage; a full review requires the extended real-world use described above. ### The Never Too Small Relationship Tech That Fits was created and run by Mark Alexander, who's partner is Colin Chee, creator of Never Too Small. Some reviewed products come from the Never Too Small studio, where products may arrive through NTS's brand partnerships. Reviews say so in their disclosure line, naming the partnership where one is known. Links and mentions of Never Too Small across the site are personal support: NTS does not pay for coverage and see nothing before publication. If coverage on Tech That Fits ever forms part of a commercial arrangement - including one made through Never Too Small - it will be clearly labelled as sponsored content, as set out below. Verdicts are never part of any arrangement. ### Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content Some articles may contain affiliate links. Tech That Fits may earn a commission from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to readers. Tech That Fits participates in the Amazon Associates program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Affiliate relationships do not influence editorial opinions or product recommendations. Sponsored content, paid partnerships and advertising will always be clearly disclosed. ## Corrections If factual errors are identified, articles may be updated or corrected. Product pricing, specifications and availability may change over time and can vary between regions. ### Contact Tech That Fits is operated by Takimmi Pty Ltd, Australia. One TV. Colin had the remote, and I had my phone. I found a YouTube video worthy of a bigger screen. The TV remote wasn't coming my way anytime soon. So I plugged these glasses into the bottom of my phone, and just like that a massive screen appeared in front of me, visible to nobody else in the room. Colin kept watching his show. I watched mine. Arguments avoided. I've spent the past couple of weeks with the VITURE Pro 2, watching videos on the sofa and playing some Xbox and Switch games through VITURE's dock. They won't replace a television in every home. But in a home with one TV and two people, they help solve a problem. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/VITUREPro2Shade.JPG) **The VITURE Pro 2 folded on the coffee table, with the lens shade clipped on. Image: Tech That Fits* ### Essentials - **Virtual screen:** VITURE rates it as 146 inches, as seen from 4 metres away. In practice, it fills your view. - **Display:** Sony micro-OLED panels, 1920 × 1080 per eye, up to 120Hz. Full HD sharpness, with motion smooth enough for fast games. - **Brightness:** up to 1,600 nits (up from 1,000 on the original VITURE Pro). With the lens shade on, the picture holds up in a bright room. - **Weight:** 63g. Comfortable for a couple of hours, which is a feature film or a long gaming session. - **Eyesight:** twin dioptre dials adjust each eye from 0 to -5.00D, so many short-sighted wearers can skip prescription inserts. - **Connection:** wired USB-C, powered by whatever you plug into. There's no battery to charge, but there's always a cable. - **Included accessories:** case, cleaning cloth, lens shade, nose pads, and a USB-C cable. ### Using It Put them on and a giant screen appears in front of you. VITURE describes it as the equivalent of a 146-inch screen seen from 4 metres away. There's no real way to measure a virtual screen, but it fills your view the way a cinema screen does from the middle row. Sony micro-OLED panels give each eye a full HD (1920 × 1080) picture, sharp enough for reading text as well as watching films. The first thing to get used to is that the screen moves with you. Turn your head and the picture stays dead ahead, like a cinema screen attached to your face. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/IMG_6020.jpg) **Everyone else in the room sees sunglasses. I see a massive screen.* *Image: Tech That Fits* I've only used bulkier VR headsets in the past, and nobody wants those on their head for long. Extended reality (XR) glasses take a different approach: a big private screen in something closer to a pair of sunglasses. VITURE's Pro 2 are simple to use. There's no mandatory app to open, no pairing and no settings. I just plugged the cable into my iPhone 17 Pro (any iPhone 15 or later works) and the screen mirrored instantly. Tap a YouTube video to full screen and it fills your view. Comfort is closer to a pair of sunglasses than to a headset. They're a little chunkier and heavier than an everyday pair, but after the first few minutes I stopped noticing them. I wore them for a couple of hours at a time without wanting to take them off. The built-in speakers sound good for watching videos through any of the usual streaming apps. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/VITURE-USBC-1.JPG) **With a phone, a single USB-C cable is all you need. Image: Tech That Fits* ### A Big Screen Without the Wall Small apartments are built around one screen, and someone else always has the remote. The Pro 2 gives you a second one. The screen lives on your face, and the whole setup folds into a case that sits in a drawer when you're done. It's also private in the way small homes rarely are. The speakers are directional, and VITURE rates sound leakage at 30dB at 20cm, roughly a whisper. You can watch or play late at night while someone sleeps a few metres away. If even a whisper is too much, the arms don't get in the way of AirPods or any other earbuds. ### Gaming I've got a lot of gaming planned for the next few months (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on 23 October, the Ocarina of Time remake on 5 November and GTA 6 on 19 November), so I was keen to test the VITURE Pro 2 with the Xbox and Switch, through VITURE's Pro Mobile Dock. The picture was excellent, and playing on a screen that size never stopped being fun. The panels refresh at up to 120Hz, so fast-moving games that support it stay smooth rather than smeary. The limitation is the cables: glasses to dock, dock to console, controller in hand. You sit closer to the Xbox than you would to a TV, and you remember you're plugged in every time you shift position. The Switch was more mobile. A Switch needs external power to send its picture to any outside screen, whether that's a TV, a monitor or a pair of glasses. The dock's built-in battery provides it, so the whole setup can move to another room, away from a power point. For sound, I usually want proper headphones with a mic, and my over-ear gaming headset fitted over the glasses without any fuss. Before you buy, check how your console connects. Phones, laptops, tablets and handhelds like the Steam Deck plug straight in. Consoles don't: - **PlayStation 5 and Xbox** need the [Pro Mobile Dock](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-pro-mobile-dock?ref=techthatfits.net) ($269 AUD), which is what I used. It adds an HDMI input and a 13,000mAh battery that doubles as a power bank. - **Switch and Switch 2** have three options: - The **Pro Mobile Dock** covers the Switch too, so one dock handles every console. - The pocket-sized [Mobile Dock Mini](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-mobile-dock-mini?ref=techthatfits.net) ($179 AUD) is the smaller, cheaper option if a Switch is your only console. - The [USB-C XR Charging Adapter Ultra](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-usb-c-xr-charging-adapter-ultra?ref=techthatfits.net) has no battery of its own. It powers the Switch from a wall charger, so you play plugged in rather than on the go. That makes it the better pick for flying. Both docks have built-in batteries, which work like power banks, and many airlines, including Australia's major carriers, no longer allow power banks to be used during flights. Most long-haul seats have a power point, and the adapter plugs straight into it. ### Want to Watch Never Too Small in 3D? The Pro 2 works without an app, but VITURE's SpaceWalker app adds extra features, which differ depending on whether you use it on a phone or a laptop. The one that surprised us most was Immersive 3D. It uses AI to turn ordinary 2D video into 3D as it plays, reading the depth in each frame on the fly. Colin and I were both amazed at how well it worked. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/IMG_5960-1.PNG) **The floating 3D icon in SpaceWalker's YouTube view. Image: Tech That Fits* Turning it on takes two steps. Watching YouTube inside SpaceWalker, a floating icon appears on the right of the screen that switches on the 3D features. Then hold down the button on the glasses to put them into 3D mode. There are three levels of 3D: Soft, Standard and Enhanced. Soft is subtle but gets everything right. Enhanced gives the most depth, but it sometimes stumbles on difficult objects. Standard sits in between. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/IMG_5959-1.jpeg) **Soft 3D gets everything right; Enhanced adds the most depth. Image: Tech That Fits* It kept us picking the glasses back up to rewatch our favourite Never Too Small episodes in a whole new way. For something happening in real time, it's pretty remarkable. ### Small Details **Fit matters more than you'd expect.** The Pro 2 comes with three nose pad attachments. Two of them clip in at three different heights, which gives seven positions in total. With the wrong fit, light crept in behind the lenses and washed out the picture. Once I found the right pad, the screen was noticeably clearer. Spend five minutes here before judging anything else. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/10/VITUREPro2-Nosepads-1-1.JPG) **The lens shade earns its place.** It snaps onto the front and blocks the room behind the picture. In bright rooms, it made the screen much easier to read. VITURE's pricier glasses dim electronically; the Pro 2 does the same job with a piece of plastic, which is one less thing to break. **The dioptre dials are the quiet highlight.** I normally wear contact lenses, and I used the Pro 2 without them. Each eye has its own dial on top of the frame, adjusting from 0 to -5.00D. When Colin tried them without his contacts or glasses, he had the picture sharp in seconds. In a shared home, that matters: one pair adjusts to whoever is wearing it. Stronger prescriptions need VITURE's prescription lens frame. **The controls are on the frame.** Two physical buttons on the left arm adjust brightness and volume, cycle through colour modes, adjust the eye axis so the picture lines up for each eye, and switch between 2D and 3D. Mid-film, there's no reaching for your phone or an app. **Small adjustments add up.** The arms tilt to three angles, and brightness steps through nine levels. I find tilting the arms especially useful when I'm lying down. *Three nose pad sizes ship in the box. The right one keeps stray light out. Image: Tech That Fits* ### Price and Availability The VITURE Pro 2 is $499 AUD, in black only. **Amazon Australia** - [VITURE Pro 2](https://link.amazon/B07OJ4Yeg?ref=techthatfits.net) - [Pro Mobile Dock](https://link.amazon/B09H7seLU?ref=techthatfits.net) **JB Hi-Fi** (Officially stocked from 16 October 2026) - [VITURE Pro 2](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-pro-2-xr-glasses?ref=techthatfits.net) - [Mobile Dock Mini](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-mobile-dock-mini?ref=techthatfits.net) - [Pro Mobile Dock](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-pro-mobile-dock?ref=techthatfits.net) - [USB-C XR Charging Adapter Ultra](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/viture-usb-c-xr-charging-adapter-ultra?ref=techthatfits.net) ### Tech That Fits Take The VITURE Pro 2 is a screen for one person, and that's precisely why it works. It doesn't try to be a headset or a computer. It does one thing, a big private picture from a single cable, and it does it with very little fuss. At $499 AUD, it's one of VITURE's most affordable pairs, yet it keeps what matters from its pricier glasses: a sharp, bright picture and built-in dioptre dials. It might lack features like electronic dimming but the clip-on shade covers that. It's great for gamers. It also suits couples sharing one TV and travellers who want a cinema on a long flight. In a small home, it earns its place by taking up almost none. *Disclosure: VITURE sent this unit for review.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### Ninja Crispi Review: an air fryer that actually fits in a small kitchen URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/ninja-crispi-review-an-air-fryer-that-actually-fits-in-a-small-kitchen/ Last updated: 2026-09-29T12:20:37.000Z Our kitchen has two gas burners, a microwave/oven combination system approaching retirement and not a lot of bench space. Colin does most of the serious cooking here. He's better at it than I am, he enjoys it after a long day and he likes the kitchen set up a particular way. Adding an appliance to the kitchen isn't just a purchase decision - it's a negotiation. Which is why I'd wanted an air fryer for years and never bought one. The cooking was never the problem. Storage was. The Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer solves that by refusing to be a single object. Ninja takes the 1700W heating element out of the usual plastic box and puts it into a removable PowerPod, which simply sits on top of a glass cooking container. Two parts: the bit that heats, and the bit that holds the food. When you're finished, they separate and go wherever they fit. Three months in, that's the review. It isn't the biggest air fryer, the cheapest, or the most controllable. It's the one that fits around a kitchen instead of asking the kitchen to make room. ### **Essentials** - **1700W PowerPod -** contains the heating coils and the built-in fan that circulate hot air down into the container to cook or crisp food fast. - **1.4L and 3.8L CleanCrisp** **glass containers -** both included with crisper plates and storage lids. The 3.8L is the one that gets used the most. - **Borosilicate glass -** makes the containers thermal shock resistant - shouldn't crack when going between temperature extremes. - **Dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe containers**. One of my main reasons for purchasing it and the reason it keeps getting used. Easy to clean in the dishwasher. - **Four modes: Roast, Air Fry, Recrisp, Keep Warm.** No temperature dial. This is the compromise, and I'll explain these modes a little more later. - **Four colours: Cyberspace, Stone, Sage Green, Pink.** I've got Sage Green model, which is a confident way of saying greeny-grey. ### An air fryer that stores in two halves This is the whole argument for the Ninja Crispi, so it's worth being precise about what's different. Most air fryers are a single large plastic box, and even the compact ones need a cupboard big enough to swallow the whole thing, or they end up permanently taking up space on the kitchen bench. That single fact has stopped me from buying an air fryer for about the last four years. Because the PowerPod lifts off, the Ninja Crispi can be stored in two parts. In our kitchen we store it on the same shelf but in a deeper cupboard. The pod at the front and the glass containers at the back. The two glass containers actually nest into each other to save space. Nothing had to be rearranged to accommodate it. I pull it out when I want it and put it away afterwards. Colin's kitchen stays Colin's kitchen. In a shared small space, that's not a minor convenience, it's the difference between an appliance that gets used and one that quietly becomes resented for making the place look messy. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/NinjaCrispi-PowerPodStorage.JPG) Where it lives between meals: PowerPod on the top shelf of the cupboard, glass containers nested inside each other and tucked in behind. High enough that Colin never has to actually lay his eyes on it. Image: Tech That Fits ### Using it The first thing I wanted out of it was roast potatoes. Our oven can roast potatoes. It just takes about two hours to get them to the crispiness I actually want, by which point I've usually lost interest in the rest of dinner. The Crispi did the same job in around 30 minutes. It also produced the first thing I've cooked that Colin described as delicious, which I'm choosing to attribute to the appliance. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/NinjaCrispi-RoastPotatoes.JPG) Roast potatoes mid-cook, with the PowerPod parked on it's side. The Crispi demands an extra bit of bench space when giving the food a shake to turn. Image: Tech That Fits The 3.8L container is comfortably enough for two people, which surprised me given how compact the system is. Two pieces of fish and roast vegetables fit in it at once. A more typical weeknight for us is a roast chicken from Coles with the Crispi handling potatoes and vegetables, and it will do around four serves of those, which means dinner for two and lunch the next day. That matters more than the litre figure suggests. Plenty of compact air fryers are compact because they've given up on cooking an actual meal, and are really only good for reheating chips. The Crispi hasn't. Cooking performance has been good. The crisper plate doesn't remove the need to rotate the food around midway through cooking. It lifts the food off the base so hot air can circulate underneath, but the exposed top still browns faster than the underside. For potatoes and vegetables I shake or rotate everything about halfway through. Ninja has at least made that easy. Lift the PowerPod off and it stops running automatically. I rest the pod on its side, pick up the container by its moulded grips, shake, and put the pod back on. The one trick I've found that isn't in the manual: the crisper plate can be used to part-separate two foods inside the larger container. Fish on one side, roast vegetables on the other. It isn't a divider and it doesn't pretend to be, but it buys a bit more usable space and keeps dinner from turning into one big mess. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/NinjaCrispi-FishOnTop.JPG) Image: Tech That Fits The glass containers get extremely hot. I learned my lesson. The grips are moulded into the glass itself and stay cool enough to hold, but the glass itself is not something you want to touch immediately after cooking. ### Four modes, and no temperature dial The Crispi's biggest limitation is its controls. There's no exact temperature setting. You choose one of the four modes and manage the cooking with time. There's actually a bit of variation between countries as to what these temperatures are. US models seem to be able to emit a bit more heat. 80°C to 200°C, in four steps \- Keep Warm (Low Heat - 80°C) \- Recrisp \- Roast \- Air Fry (High Heat - 200°C). I actually haven't found this too much of a limitation. I guess it has bothered others - and the next model up - the newer Ninja Crispi Pro - lets you set the temperature directly on a digital dial. I did know this when I purchased the unit - but was put off by the newer model because it's larger in size and doesn't split into two parts for easy storage. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/NinjaCrispi-Controls.JPG) Simple controls - set a time, choose a mode and then press start. Image: Tech That Fits ### **Small details** The glass dish changes three things. You can see the food. Instead having to pull open a basket to see how things are cooking - you can just look through the side. There's a small pleasure in watching those potatoes crisp up. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/IMG_0775-1.JPG) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/IMG_0783.JPG) Cooking in progress. Opening a conventional air fryer to check on your food releases a bunch of the heat you’ve built up. The glass means you can keep an eye on things without opening it. Shiro has his own system checking what's cooking. Image: Tech That Fits The containers go in the dishwasher. So do the crisper plates and lids. Everything that touches dinner is machine washable - which was one of my original reasons for purchasing and remains a strong one. Since the container isn't attached to the appliance - take the pod off, and you're holding onto a glass serving dish. It's used not only to cook in, but it can be carried straight to the table, and once it's cooled - just clip on the storage lid and put the leftovers in the fridge. One container for cooking, serving and storing. That's one wash instead of three, and two fewer objects a small kitchen has to find room for. The PowerPod can't go in the dishwasher - it's the part with all the electronics. The underside of it does get splattered if you cook something with a bit too much oil on it. I wipe it down between uses, but after a few months that stopped being enough and it now wants a proper deep clean. ### Price and availability The Ninja Crispi has an Australian RRP of $299.99AUD. I paid $178.60 AUD delivered from Amazon Australia during Prime Day, around 40% below RRP. Available in a few colours, Cyberspace, Stone, Sage Green and Pink. - [Amazon Australia](https://www.amazon.com.au/Ninja-CleanCrispTM-Functionality-Leak-Proof-FN101SGANZ/dp/B0FLDTL1TC?crid=3PFTA07JDXXSZ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.N6jG7maeWAfV0jvX%5FNO8rxmc99Swi2-0h3k5MAxChxKkaOPwxMQPsPEMV6DGXEoAGQZedhULJ4b4j1QKDJHUytG9W86FKmf-1u3uuW7QJXDAlT3Ts0Tpni1DkzClt7v4KV1b0-vqxQjg1%5FfrBmZZsUqJkPPvYGkKZw2uPd74bNfQcxu4SSCWAsxJ-JYPV3ssekVi7GMgr-FoZVndmqekZ3w43gGQHIo-97p1XZ-XQYKjD7OlRCffDPEQ0XzDHT4Y6Aw9Dkq4biS0Bn40ek7QPdR3FTPVzGRUnl5r-xDFX3Y.ycIugsXSB0XXKEp4Bn1TVUuEivMtgtVax8EykviwDFc&dib%5Ftag=se&keywords=ninja%2Bcrispi%2Bpro&qid=1790578709&sprefix=Ninja%2BCrispi%2B%2Caps%2C298&sr=8-10&th=1&linkCode=ll2&tag=techthatfits-22&linkId=ee4a52be7aa46763f88eceb5db46c2ab&ref%5F=as%5Fli%5Fss%5Ftl&ref=techthatfits.net) (affiliate link) - [Harvey Norman](https://www.harveynorman.com.au/ninja-crispi-4-in-1-portable-glass-air-fryer.html?srsltid=AU7gw4XQfIFxlFK3uCx9siqSaq0YSMTT9rcwLDRN44IgMtuIMTdi7wPJ&ref=techthatfits.net) - [JB Hi-Fi ](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ninja-crispi-4-in-1-portable-glass-air-fryer-grey?ref=techthatfits.net) - [Shark / Ninja](https://sharkninja.com.au/products/ninja-crispi-4-in-1-portable-glass-air-fryer?ref=techthatfits.net) ### Tech That Fits Take The Ninja Crispi isn't the best air fryer you can buy, and at $299.99 AUD it isn't particularly cheap. But it's one of the easiest air fryers to live with, particularly in a small or shared kitchen where giving up permanent bench space to another appliance is a bigger compromise than it sounds. The clever part isn't really the cooking, it's the design. Ninja has effectively split the air fryer into two, separating the PowerPod from the glass cooking containers so the whole thing never needs to be stored as one bulky appliance. The glass also means you can cook, serve and store food in the same container. If you have plenty of bench space, skip it. A conventional air fryer will give you more capacity and temperature control for less money. The Crispi's fixed cooking temperatures, relatively small capacity and $299.99 AUD price are compromises you're making largely for its flexibility and compact storage. But if storage is the reason you haven't bought an air fryer, the Ninja Crispi makes a compelling case. Three months after buying mine, I haven't had to reorganise the kitchen around it. When I'm finished cooking the containers go back in the cupboard and the PowerPod disappears with them. The Ninja Crispi isn't an air fryer that earns its place on the bench, it's an air fryer that doesn't need one. *Disclosure: I bought the Ninja Crispi myself.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### Insta360 Snap Selfie Screen with Light review: your phone's best camera, finally facing you URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/insta360-snap-selfie-screen-with-light-review-your-phones-best-camera-finally-facing-you/ Last updated: 2026-09-29T13:52:20.000Z Every phone has the same quiet compromise. The best cameras point away from you. The iPhone 17 Pro's 18-megapixel front camera is perfectly decent, but the good lenses are on the back. The Insta360 Snap Selfie Screen with Light gives those rear cameras a screen of their own, so you can see yourself while you use them. ### Essentials - **Screen:** 3.5-inch touchscreen, 550 nits. Bright enough to frame a shot outdoors. - **Size and weight:** 103 x 67.5 x 8.2mm, 88.6g. It adds less bulk than most wallet cases. - **Connection:** USB-C cable, no Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Nothing to pair and no noticeable lag. - **Power:** no battery. It runs off your phone, so there's nothing to charge or wear out. - **Works with:** USB-C iPhones with MagSafe (iPhone 15 or later), and Android phones with USB-C video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) using the included magnetic ring. - **Price:** $154.99 AUD, or $139.99 AUD for the version without the light. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/IMG_1635-1.JPG) **In the box: the Snap, a magnetic ring for phones without MagSafe, and instructions. There's no charging cable, because there's nothing to charge. Image: Tech That Fits* It attaches magnetically to the back of your phone and connects with a short USB-C cable. The Snap mirrors your whole phone screen, not just the camera, and you can control everything from it by touch. You can frame a shot in the camera app, or record straight into Instagram or TikTok. It's wired, so there's no complicated connection to set up or lag. The Snap just runs off your phone's battery - and Insta360 recommends unplugging the Snap Selfie Screen when you're not using it. The annoying part is on iPhone. The touchscreen only works once you turn on Zoom in the Accessibility settings (not the first place anyone would look). It works, but it feels like a workaround rather than a setup. The built-in fill light works like a tiny ring light, which is the difference between a usable indoor selfie and a murky one. It has three colour temperatures with three brightness levels each, so you can match warm lamplight or cool daylight. The artificial leather cover is the clever part. It folds back over your phone's main screen and stops you from tapping anything by accident. When you pack it away, it protects the Snap's screen and holds the cable in place. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/09/IMG_1646-1.JPG) Two buttons on the front to adjust the brightness and the temperature of the light. ### Price and availability - $154.99 AUD with the light, or $139.99 AUD without Avaliable from: - [Amazon Australia](https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0H6WYLQG4?tag=techthatfits-22&ref=techthatfits.net) - [Insta360's Australian online store](https://www.insta360.com/sal/snap?utm%5Fsource=AffiliateCenter&utm%5Fmedium=copylink&utm%5Fterm=INRSGVGT466) ### Tech That Fits Take The Snap isn't the only way to take rear-camera selfies, but it's one of the most flexible. What the Snap has over other options is reach. It mirrors your whole phone screen, so you can shoot in your favourite app, or quickly change settings without ever turning the phone around. It's pretty neat workaround given the limitations of screen mirroring in iOS and Android. It doesn't require any app. It suits anyone who regularly films themselves on a USB-C iPhone (iPhone 15 or later) or a compatible Android phone. Occasional selfie-takers can skip it. So can live streamers, since Insta360 advises against long, high-load sessions. It turns out my selfie game didn't need upgrading. My mum received every test shot from this review anyway. My niece received the Snap itself, and she loves it. It earned its place. Just not on my phone. *Disclosure: I bought this unit myself.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### IKEA & XBOX Tease A Collaboration URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/ikea-xbox-tease-a-collaboration/ Last updated: 2026-08-19T15:19:27.000Z IKEA appears to be teaming up with XBox, teasing what looks like to be a new collection of gaming-inspired products. > [ View this post on Instagram ](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcLpmf5gmOJ/?utm%5Fsource=ig%5Fembed&utm%5Fcampaign=loading) > > [A post shared by IKEA (@ikea)](https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcLpmf5gmOJ/?utm%5Fsource=ig%5Fembed&utm%5Fcampaign=loading) The first teaser has appeared on IKEA's Instagram, accomopanied by only a gaming controller emoji 🎮 and a green heart 💚. XBOX has added to this in the comments with a simple "Hej", Swedish for hello. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/IKEA-Hints-Xbox-Collaboration.png) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/XBOX-Hey.png) IKEA Australia has also shared the teaser, suggesting Australia could be also among the markets to see the collaboration. The short video doesn't reveal much, but appears to offer glimpses of several Xbox inspired products. These include what looks like an oversized analogue thumbstick that oculd be a lamp, along with an XBOX green cushion that resembles an Xbox controller's D-pad. More details are likely coming soon. ### IKEA VÄSTMÄRKE Wireless Charging Stand URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/ikea-vastmarke-qi2-stand-review-the-cork-wireless-charger/ Last updated: 2026-08-04T18:32:53.000Z It's past midnight, sleep is nowhere to be found, and my phone is propped on the bedside table playing a show quietly. A wired pair of earbuds runs from the phone's open USB-C port, saving me from the 3 AM indignity of fishing a lot AirPod out from the sheets and waking up my partner. The older flat wireless pads always demanded a bit of a fumbling precision to get the coil aligned perfectly and the juices flowing. This wireless charger is certified to Qi2.0 standards and has a magnet to make it easier and keep everything securely in place. I've kept it beside for six weeks now, charging my iPhone overnight. It does the one job a bedside charger has to do and it does it without any extra glowing LED beside me at night. The VÄSTMÄRKE is IKEA's answer to cheap and sexy wireless charging. It's out now - although out of stock in a lot of places. It's priced at just $24.99 AUD. ## Essentials - **Price:** $24.99 AUD. One of the cheapest ways to get Qi2 magnetic charging. - **Output:** 5W to 15W - depending on the wall plug you attach it to - **Weight:** 170g - **Materiality:** Plastic (smooth polycarbonate) charging face, resting on a cork pillar. - **The** **Cable:** 1.2m ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/VASTMARKE-BOX.JPG) The label is pretty clear. Includes the charging stand, excludes a power adaptor. ## Using It This magnetic pad of the VÄSTMÄRKE gets the tactile snap just right. It holds the phone at a perfect, glanceable recline. Turn your iPhone onto its side and your iPhone will drop into StandBy mode, transforming it into a small, quiet bedside clock. It's also the perfect angle for me to watch things while lying in bed. VÄSTMÄRKE's cork does three quiet things: it warms up an object that would otherwise be completely plastic, it protects your phone from scuffs and makes the whole thing look much more considered rather than disposable. There's one honest quirk - because the unit is so feather-light (170g) and the magnet is eager, pulling your phone straight up in a morning rush will lift the entire stand off the table. It's a two-second friction easily solved by learning to slide the phone down and off the pad instead of yanking it up. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/VASTMARKE-WirelessCharger-Back.jpeg) There's no replacing the cable - it's fully embedded into the cork. ## It doesn't come with a plug It's got a 120cm USB-C coming from the base - that you can't actually detach or replace - but IKEA deliberately omits the wall plug. This isn't a stingy catch, it's a brilliant, unglamorous win against e-waste. We all have a drawer somewhere of cables and power adaptors. I paired mine with a 20W adaptor from an old iPad. To unlock its full 15W charging speed, you need to plug it into a 20W USB-C plug. If you pair it with an older 18W plug - it will silently cap things at 10W - although that's probably still perfectly adequate for overnight charging. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/IKEA-Power-Allocation-1.png) 15W wireless charging requires a 20W+ USB-C PD adapter. Anything less, and charging speed drops. If you genuinely need a plug, [IKEA's $6.50 SJÖSS 20W](https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/sjoess-20w-1-port-usb-charger-00618441/?ref=techthatfits.net) charger is the cheapest way to guarantee maximum speed. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/08/VASTMARKE-WirelessCharger-Bottom.JPG) ## Price and Availability The VÄSTMÄRKE is $24.99 AUD and available worldwide now from [IKEA](https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/vaestmaerke-wireless-charging-stand-10618431/?ref=techthatfits.net) \- online and in-store. Optional plug: [SJÖSS 20W 1-port USB-C charger](https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/sjoess-20w-1-port-usb-charger-00618441/?ref=techthatfits.net), $6.50 AUD, if you don't already own a 20W-plus source. ## Tech That Fits Take The VÄSTMÄRKE isn't the fastest or the most premium wireless stand, and it doesn't try to be. It's one of the cheapest, most honest routes to Qi2 magnetic charging on a bedside table, and one of the few at this price that actually looks sexy doing it. It sits just as happily on a desk, and the angle it holds your phone at keeps the screen useful the whole time it's charging. The magnet is willing but gentle, and most of the grumpy reviews online come down to phones or cases with no magnets for it to grab. If your case isn't magnetic, either switch to one that is or drop a universal MagSafe sticker inside it. Do that and the complaints will disappear. *Disclosure: I bought this unit myself.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-Port Laptop Power Bank 20K Review URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/belkin-boostcharge-pro-3-port-laptop-power-bank-20k-review/ Last updated: 2026-07-21T04:43:18.000Z Filming had just wrapped at [Miele's compact living concept kitchen](https://www.techthatfits.net/news/miele-unveils-compact-living-concept-for-smaller-urban-homes/) at Milan Design Week, and my laptop was doing everything at once - pulling video from the camera, audio from the mics, and uploading files all to Dropbox through my iPhone's hotspot. With the laptop powering the whole sync, its battery was draining fast, and the phone wasn't far behind. Both spent the next hour plugged into the power bank in my bag. Most power banks spend their lives topping up phones. The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 3-Port Laptop Power Bank 20K is aimed at days like that one, when more than a phone needs charging and an outlet isn't close by. One afternoon like that would make a decent demo. Milan gave it a full week of them, and the BoostCharge Pro handled it without much thought from me. Whether it earns a place in your bag depends on how often your days look like that one. *The BoostCharge Pro 20K spent Milan Design Week living in the side of my bag.* ## Essentials - **Capacity:** 20,000mAh (with up to 65W USB-C Power Delivery output). Enough for roughly four full iPhone 17 Pro charges, or most of a 14-inch MacBook Pro. - **Ports:** 2 x USB-C and 1 x USB-A, charging up to three devices at once. No pass-through charging, so the bank needs its own turn at the wall. - **Weight:** 380g. The honest cost of the capacity. - **Materiality:** A matte black recycled-plastic shell that hides fingerprints and looks quietly professional next to glossier alternatives. - **The Cable:** A 60cm USB-C to USB-C cable in the box, rated to 60W. Short enough to stay tidy, long enough to reach a laptop on a tray table. - **The Screen:** A full-colour digital display showing live wattage for each port, estimated runtime, and - while recharging - how long until the bank itself is full. Not just a battery percentage. - **Recharging:** Up to 45W USB-C input refills the bank itself in around two hours. - **Travel Ready:** At about 70.8Wh it sits comfortably under the 100Wh airline limit for carry-on batteries, so it flies wherever you do. ## Using It The pairing that matters here is 20,000mAh and 65W. Plenty of banks offer one or the other; it's the combination that makes laptops fair game. In practice, 65W meaningfully recharges my 14-inch MacBook Pro while I work, rather than politely slowing the drain. It took my M4 MacBook Pro from flat to 50 per cent in about 40 minutes. It fast charges my iPhone 17 Pro too, but a phone barely stretches its legs here. The output earns its keep on laptops, tablets and cameras. The clearest example came in Milan. I've been with Colin, behind the scenes of some Never Too Small shoot, we had been filming Miele's new concept kitchen, and once the cameras were down we transferred the footage to a laptop and uploaded around 20GB over 5G to the team sleeping in Melbourne. That workflow eats batteries. The iPhone was acting as the hotspot for everything and the laptop was busy powering the camera and mic while all the data copies across. Instead of a pocketful of chargers, the BoostCharge Pro became the power source for the whole setup. Three devices at once is the point of the three ports. Used on its own, either USB-C port delivers the full 65W. With everything plugged in, the two USB-C ports share 45W while the USB-A port supplies up to 15W - enough to keep a laptop and phone moving while an accessory tops up. On capacity, 20,000mAh recharges my iPhone around four times, or delivers most of a full charge to the MacBook Pro. All these numbers mean I never had to worry about running flat during Milan Design Week. ## The Display The display ended up being my favourite features of this power bank. Beyond a battery percentage, it shows the live power output of each port and estimates how long the remaining charge will last at the current rate of use. Plug the bank in to recharge and it flips to a countdown of how long until it's full. It also settled some old scores in my cable bag. Watching the real wattage flow made it obvious which USB-C cables actually deliver their advertised speeds (two of mine have been thrown away since). It's the sort of feature that sounds unnecessary until you use it. After a week of seeing exactly where the power goes, a plain percentage readout feels like guesswork. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/IMG_4893.JPG) **The display cycles between battery percentage, per-port wattage and estimated runtime at the current draw. Image: Tech That Fits* ## Where It Fits At 380g, this is not the bank you slip into a jacket pocket. That weight is the trade-off for the larger battery and higher output, and it's worth being clear-eyed about. It makes sense when you're carrying more than a phone. Cameras, laptops, tablets and portable work setups are where the capacity and output become worthwhile - flights, conferences, cafes, airport lounges and hotel lobbies are its natural habitat. For me, it earned its place on long days away from the hotel. Knowing the phone, camera and laptop were all covered removed a surprising amount of low-level stress from the day. ## Small Details Belkin includes a 60cm USB-C to USB-C cable rated to 60W - short enough to stay tidy in a bag, long enough to reach a laptop on a tray table. The matte black finish hides fingerprints and looks quietly professional next to the glossy plastic of cheaper alternatives. The housing is made from recycled plastic and the packaging is completely plastic-free. It won't solve the electronics industry's waste problem, but it's the right direction, and it deserves noting. ## Trust and Charging A power bank is a lithium-ion battery you carry onto planes and plug into your most expensive devices, so trust is part of the spec sheet. Belkin's SmartProtect suite - its name for a set of built-in safety features - monitors temperature, protects against over-voltage, short circuits and overloads, and uses fire-resistant materials in the housing. Recharging the bank itself, Belkin quotes around 1 hour 45 minutes from a 45W USB-C PD charger. I used the 65W charger I already travel with for the MacBook - thanks to USB Power Delivery, the bank simply draws what it needs, up to its 45W maximum - and a full recharge took around two hours. Charging also eases off if the battery runs warm, which is the behaviour you want from something living in a warm bag. One genuine limitation: no pass-through charging. The bank can't recharge itself and a device at the same time, which means it will need its own plug at night to charge. Belkin backs it with a two-year warranty plus a $2,500 Connected Equipment Warranty - in plain English, if the bank malfunctions and damages a device properly connected to it, Belkin covers that device up to $2,500. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/07/Belkin-BoostCharge-Pro-20K-Certifications.JPG) Certification marks from a dozen markets, Australia's RCM tick (the local compliance mark) among them - along with the printed 70.85Wh rating that keeps it under the 100Wh carry-on limit. Available from: - [Amazon Australia](https://amzn.to/4eEFmBY?ref=techthatfits.net) (affiliate link) - [Belkin Australia](https://www.belkin.com/au/p/boostcharge-pro-3-port-laptop-power-bank-20k/BPB020fqBK.html?ref=techthatfits.net) - [JB Hi-Fi](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?query=Belkin%20BoostCharge%20Pro%203-Port%20Laptop%20Power%20Bank%2020K&ref=techthatfits.net) - [Harvey Norman](https://www.harveynorman.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=Belkin+BoostCharge+Pro+3-Port+Laptop+Power+Bank+20K&ref=techthatfits.net) There are 20,000mAh banks around for half this price, but many cheaper alternatives offer lower 20-30W output and tell you nothing about where the power is going. The extra spend buys genuine laptop charging, the per-port display and a warranty that covers the gear you plug in - the difference between a big battery and a travelling power hub. ## Tech That Fits Take The BoostCharge Pro 20K isn't the lightest power bank you can buy, and it isn't the cheapest way to carry 20,000mAh. It's a deliberate piece of travel infrastructure for people whose day runs on a laptop, a camera and a phone at once - and judged as that, it's excellent. The display is the surprise standout. Live per-port wattage and runtime estimates turn charging from an act of faith into information, and it remains uncommon on cheaper battery banks. If you only ever top up a phone, skip it - a 10K bank at half the weight, like the [Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 10K](https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/belkin-boostcharge-power-bank-10k-with-display-review/) I reviewed earlier this year, will serve you better. But if your day depends on keeping several devices alive away from a desk, this one earns its place. In Milan it didn't just charge my gear; it took power outlets off my list of things to think about. *Disclosure: The Belkin BoostCharge Pro 20K was supplied for review.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### Samsung Galaxy Unpacked lands 22 July: new foldables and watches, and how to watch from Australia URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/samsung-galaxy-unpacked-lands-22-july-new-foldables-and-watches-and-how-to-watch-from-australia/ Last updated: 2026-07-12T12:29:30.000Z # Samsung Galaxy Unpacked lands 22 July: new foldables and watches, and how to watch from Australia Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked happens 22 July in London, with new Galaxy foldables and watches on the way. As an emotional kid, the Toy Story films always got me. I remember feeling genuinely sad for the toys whenever they weren’t being played with. Sitting on a shelf. Waiting for their kid. Wondering if they still mattered. *Toy Story 5* taps into that same feeling, but updates it for 2026. This time the threat isn’t another toy. It’s technology. ### **Movie Trailer** Toy Story 5 - Official Trailer ## **Childhood Has Changed** Bonnie is still very much a kid. That’s what makes the story work. She’s not trying to grow up. If anything, the world around her is pushing her there faster than she might otherwise go. The film opens with Bonnie’s parents debating whether to buy her a tablet. They’re nervous about it, but they’re also worried about her missing out. Bonnie is struggling to make friends because she’s one of the only kids still playing with toys while everyone else is connected online. When she finally receives her Lily Pad, her parents start with good intentions. She gets a day of unrestricted use to learn how to use it before screen-time restrictions are supposed to begin. Like many good intentions, those rules quickly become harder to enforce than expected. By the next morning, she’s reaching for it before anything else. It’s a small moment, but one that immediately feels familiar. The film isn’t really criticising Bonnie’s parents. If anything, it acknowledges how difficult modern parenting has become. Nobody wants their child glued to a screen. Nobody wants them left behind either. The film also touches on some of the less obvious challenges that come with kids being constantly connected. Bonnie becomes upset after reading messages in a group chat where some low-level cyberbullying is taking place. Rather than immediately taking the device away or demanding answers, Bonnie’s mum calmly asks her to show her what’s happened and reassures her that she’s not in trouble. It’s a brief scene, but one that felt refreshingly realistic. The film acknowledges that technology isn’t going away, so the answer isn’t simply removing it. It’s about helping kids navigate it. ## **The Forgotten Devices** The most emotional part of the movie for me wasn’t one of the toys. It was the old technology. While searching for Bonnie, Jessie discovers a collection of forgotten devices hidden away in a drawer with dead batteries. After bringing them back to life, she meets Smarty Pants, Snappy and Atlas. Unlike the toys, they don’t even realise they’ve been abandoned. Their batteries died and that was it. One of them describes the last thing he remembers seeing before shutting down: a collection of photos followed by a spinning rainbow loading icon. The next thing he knows, Jessie is installing fresh batteries years later. It’s funny, but also surprisingly sad. When Jessie asks how long they spent with their kids, the answers range from just three to six months. They weren’t loved and outgrown. They were simply replaced. The toys miss being played with. The devices miss being useful. It’s a subtle juxtaposition that sits at the heart of the film. One longs for connection. The other longs for purpose. That distinction stuck with me long after the credits rolled. Another moment that stayed with me comes when the devices describe Bonnie as “9.5” years old. Not nine. Not ten. 9.5. It sounds like the way a gadget might describe another gadget. A tiny joke, but one that perfectly captures how differently the devices view the world compared to the toys. ## **It’s Not Toys vs Tech** The marketing positions the film as a battle between toys and technology. That’s only half the story. At first, Lily Pad feels like the villain. Bonnie becomes obsessed with staying connected. She worries about missing games, missing jokes and missing whatever happened while she was offline. The toys see Lily Pad as the problem. Lily Pad sees the toys as outdated. But neither side is actually trying to hurt Bonnie. They’re both trying to help her. One of the recurring ideas throughout the film is that Bonnie isn’t like everyone else. The toys keep reminding Lily Pad that a one-size-fits-all solution doesn’t work. Eventually Lily Pad realises that despite her good intentions, she’s been causing Bonnie as much stress as happiness. By the end, even Jessie understands that technology isn’t the enemy. It’s just another part of Bonnie’s life. That idea is summed up perfectly when Woody says of Lily Pad: “She’s one of us. Deal with it.” It’s a surprisingly mature conclusion. ## **Final Thoughts** ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/ToyStory5Ticket.jpeg) **10am screening at Hoyts Melbourne Central. Judging by the audience, Toy Story has grown up alongside its original fans.* I watched *Toy Story 5* at a 10am screening filled almost entirely with adults. Which somehow felt appropriate. The original *Toy Story* was about toys competing for a child’s attention. Thirty years later, the competition looks very different. Bonnie isn’t choosing between Woody and Buzz. She’s trying to navigate a world of group chats, social pressure, online friendships and constant connectivity. Meanwhile, Jessie is left wondering whether there’s still a place for toys in a childhood increasingly shaped by screens. The marketing presents the film as a battle between toys and technology. The movie itself is much more interested in what happens when the two learn to coexist. The toys help Bonnie imagine. Technology helps Bonnie connect. The problem isn’t either one on its own. It’s when one begins to replace the other. Sitting in a cinema full of adults, it struck me that many of us have grown up alongside these characters. The original *Toy Story* was released in 1995, and many of the children who grew up with Woody and Buzz are now adults navigating these same questions in their own lives. In that sense, *Toy Story 5* feels like it has grown up alongside its audience. The film doesn’t just explore technology from a child’s perspective. It also spends time examining the challenges faced by parents. Bonnie’s mum and dad aren’t portrayed as careless or out of touch. They’re trying to answer the same question many families are asking today: how do you embrace technology without letting it take over? By showing the issue through Bonnie, the toys, the devices and the parents, the film avoids easy answers. Instead, it presents technology as something that can help, harm and connect, often at the same time. Despite the bigger themes, *Toy Story 5* never forgets to be fun. There are plenty of laughs throughout, and Jessie proves she’s more than capable of carrying a Toy Story film. The movie spends a lot of time talking about technology, but it never feels like a lecture. Its ideas are woven naturally into the story, allowing the audience to arrive at their own conclusions alongside the characters. Underneath all the jokes, talking gadgets and adventure sequences, *Toy Story 5* is exploring a question many families are already grappling with today: **How do we find a healthy balance between technology and real life?** That’s what stayed with me long after the credits rolled. *Toy Story 5* isn’t really about toys versus tech. It’s about balance. --- Don’t rush out when the credits start rolling. Stay for the full song and you’ll be rewarded with one last scene before the lights come up. --- ## **Want Your Own Lilypad?** Belkin has actually released an officially licensed Disney Pixar Toy Story Lilypad iPad Case. The new assistant is powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence and is designed to understand a user's personal context across their devices. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/Apple-Siri-AI-conversation-history-overview-260608.jpg) Siri AI now has its own dedicated app, giving users a place to review past conversations, revisit answers and continue discussions across Apple devices Unlike traditional voice assistants that primarily search the web, Siri AI can draw information from messages, emails, notes, photos and calendar events stored on a user's device. Apple says users can ask Siri to find a photo from years ago, locate an important email buried in their inbox or retrieve details from a note simply by asking. Apple also demonstrated more natural conversations with Siri AI, allowing users to ask open-ended questions, brainstorm ideas and continue conversations without repeatedly rephrasing requests. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/WWDC-26-CustomiseSiriVoice.png) Siri gains more voice customisation options, allowing users to adjust both speaking pace and expressiveness. The company says Apple Intelligence is also becoming more deeply integrated throughout its operating systems. Apps including Photos, Messages and Safari are gaining new AI-powered capabilities, while Visual Intelligence is expanding to iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/Apple-Siri-AI-Visual-Intelligence-on-Mac-260608.jpg) Visual Intelligence is expanding to iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro. Beyond Apple Intelligence, the new software releases also introduce updates across Apple's platforms, including redesigned interfaces, new child safety tools and additional features for productivity, communication and accessibility. Privacy remained a major theme throughout Apple's presentation. Apple says requests are processed either directly on-device or through its Private Cloud Compute infrastructure, and that personal user data is not shared with third-party AI providers. The new software updates are currently available in developer beta, with public betas expected next month. iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27 are scheduled to launch later this year. You don't think about them much until your phone battery drops into the red and there's no power point in sight. I've been using the Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 10K with Display for several months. It's been hauled through Melbourne commutes, tossed into the bottom of my bags and most recently kept my devices alive through the frantic, high-mileage days of Milan Design Week 2026. While there are certainly larger and more powerful batteries on the market, its compact size, built-in cable, and honest display make it the easiest tech companion to carry every day. ### Essentials - **Capacity:** 10,000mAh (with 20W wired fast charging) - **Ports:** 2 x USB-C (supporting pass-through charging) - **Weight:** 233g - **Materiality:** Wrapped in a warm, matte **72% recycled plastic** shell. The cobalt blue finish makes it easy to spot at the bottom of a dark bag. - **The Cable:** Features an **integrated 15cm braided USB-C strap**. It clips into the corner so you can't accidentally leave your charging cord at home. - **The Screen:** A **crisp digital display** that shows your exact battery percentage, saving you from the guessing game of blinking LED dots. - **Travel Ready:** Marked with international certifications includings **China's CCC**. It's a small detail of quiet legitimacy that keeps you from getting pulled aside by customs officers during a Shanghai layover to Milan. ### Using It This is the kind of power bank that's always ready to go. The attached USB-C cable means one less thing to carry. With everything already attached, I can simply drop it into my bag and know it’s ready when I need it. The digital display removes the guesswork. Rather than relying on a few LED dots, it shows exactly how much charge is left. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/Belkin-PowerBank10K-Display.JPG) A quick glance is all it takes to see how much charge remains before your next flight, commute or day out. In day-to-day use, the 10,000mAh battery has been enough to recharge my phone around twice before the power bank itself needs recharging. I'm using an iPhone 17 which has approximately 4000mAh of battery inside. It supports up to 20W charging when powering a single device, which is enough to take advantage of fast charging on most newer phones. That’s one of the reasons I still prefer a wired power bank. A quick 15-minute charge in my bag is often more useful than slowly topping up from a wireless battery bank. Pass-through charging is also supported, allowing the power bank to charge itself while charging another device. It’s particularly handy in hotel rooms with limited power outlets. ### Small Details Belkin has also paid attention to some of the smaller details. The included 15cm USB-C cable attaches to a braided loop on one corner of the power bank, making it harder to lose in a bag. Attached caps help keep the connectors clean while travelling. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/Belkin-PowerBank10k-iPhoneCharging.JPG) The attached USB-C cable makes it easy to top up a phone while travelling, with no extra cables required. The blue version I tested stands out from the sea of black power banks on the market and is easier to spot when it’s disappeared into the bottom of a backpack. The housing, excluding the cable, is made from a minimum of 72 per cent post-consumer recycled plastic, while the packaging is completely plastic-free. It's a welcome step towards reducing waste. ### Travel Ready At 233g, the BoostCharge 10K is light enough to throw into a backpack, sling bag or carry-on without a second thought. The 10,000mAh capacity strikes a practical balance between portability and endurance. Belkin describes the power bank as suitable for carry-on travel, and the back of the unit is covered in certifications for markets around the world, including China’s CCC (China Compulsory Certificate). During a layover in Shanghai on my way to Milan Design Week 2026, airport security specifically checked for the CCC marking. It’s a small detail, but one that highlights the value of buying a properly certified power bank from an established brand. ### Trust and Charging Battery banks are one of those products where trust matters. You’re carrying a lithium-ion battery in your bag, taking it onto planes and plugging it into expensive devices. Belkin includes SmartProtect, a suite of safety features that monitor temperature, protect against over-voltage and short circuits, detect overloads and use fire-resistant materials. The power bank supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) input up to 20W, allowing it to be recharged using most modern USB-C chargers. Using a 20W charger, I found a full recharge took around two hours. Belkin backs it with a two-year warranty and a $2,500 Connected Equipment Warranty (CEW). ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/Belkin-PowerBank10K-Certifications.JPG) Certifications from markets around the world, including China’s CCC approval, helped make the BoostCharge 10K one less thing to worry about while travelling internationally. ### Price and Availability The Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 10K with Display has an RRP of $69.95 AUD. It's available in Black, Blue, Pink, Sand and White. Available from the following retailers: - [Amazon Australia (affiliate link)](https://amzn.to/4unoTXB?ref=techthatfits.net) - [Belkin Australia](https://www.belkin.com/au/p/power-bank-10k-with-display/BPB027fqBK.html?ref=techthatfits.net) - [JB Hi-Fi](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?query=Belkin%20BoostCharge%2010K%20Power%20Bank%20with%20Display&ref=techthatfits.net) - [Harvey Norman](https://www.harveynorman.com.au/catalogsearch/result/?q=belkin+boostcharge+10k+power+bank+with+display&ref=techthatfits.net) While there are cheaper 10,000mAh power banks available, the built-in cable, digital display and focus on safety make this one feel a little more considered. ### Tech That Fits Take The Belkin BoostCharge Power Bank 10K with Display isn’t the biggest or most capable power bank on the market, but that’s precisely why it works. Compact, lightweight and thoughtfully designed, it’s the sort of power bank that’s easy to throw in a bag and forget about until you need it. Its broad international certifications, including China's CCC approval, make it a practical choice for frequent travellers. If you primarily need to keep a phone, earbuds or other small devices charged throughout the day, it’s a reliable option that earns its place in your everyday carry. Those looking to charge laptops or multiple power-hungry devices will be better served by a larger power bank. For everyone else, the BoostCharge 10K strikes an excellent balance between size, convenience and portability. *Disclosure: The Belkin BoostCharge 10K was supplied for review.* [*Editorial Policy*](https://www.techthatfits.net/editorial/)*.* ### Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Xbox Celebrates 25 Years With New Console And Major Game Reveals URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/xbox-games-showcase-2026-xbox-celebrates-25-years-with-new-console-and-major-game-reveals/ Last updated: 2026-06-09T12:14:13.000Z Xbox has wrapped up its 2026 Games Showcase, unveiling a limited-edition 25th Anniversary Xbox Series X alongside new trailers, release dates and gameplay reveals for some of its biggest upcoming titles. Rather than replacing the A1, the A2L sits alongside it, bringing a significantly larger build volume, upgraded hardware and a new modular ecosystem that includes optional cutting and plotting tools. The headline feature is its 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume, which gives makers considerably more room for larger household items, cosplay props, organisers and other projects that would normally need to be split into multiple parts before assembly. ## Essentials - 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume - 105% more printable space than the A1 - Upgraded extrusion system with active monitoring to help prevent print failures (PMSM closed-loop servo extruder) - Adaptive vibration compensation for larger prints - Full automatic calibration - AMS Lite support for multi-colour and multi-material printing - Optional blade cutting and pen plotting tools - Noise levels below 49dB in Silent Mode - Starts at $649 AUD While the A2L shares much of the simplicity that made the A1 popular, Bambu Lab says it isn't simply a larger version of the existing printer. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/size.png) The A2L’s larger build plate provides significantly more room for larger projects, reducing the need to split prints into multiple pieces. The new model introduces a PMSM closed-loop servo extruder, which actively monitors filament flow to improve reliability and help detect potential printing issues before they cause a failed print. It also adds adaptive vibration compensation and integrated resonance dampers designed to improve print quality on larger and taller prints. Additional upgrades include a new physical nozzle clump detection system, full automatic calibration and support for optional expansion modules. One of the first of those modules is the Blade Cutting Upgrade Kit, which allows the A2L to function as both a cutting machine and drawing plotter. ## Optional Module - Blade Cutting Kit - $119 AUD Includes: - Blade cutting module - Pen plotting module - Dedicated cutting mat - Accessories required for cutting and plotting The upgrade allows the A2L to cut materials such as stickers, paper, fabric and leather, while also functioning as a drawing plotter. Bambu Lab has also confirmed plans for a future "Print-then-Cut" workflow through a software update. The company says the A2L will not support laser modules due to safety concerns associated with its open-frame design. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/BBL-A2L-06.jpg) ## Pricing And Availability The A2L is available in two versions: ### A2L - $649 AUD Includes: - A2L printer - Tool box - Build plate - Spool holder ### A2L Combo - $849 AUD Includes everything in the standard A2L package, plus: - AMS Lite multi-material system The AMS Lite supports multi-colour and multi-material printing. It can also hold duplicate spools of the same filament, allowing the printer to automatically switch to a fresh roll when one runs out. That's especially useful on larger prints where a single spool may not be enough to finish the job. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/A2L-combo-01-1-1.jpg) A2L Combo (A2L Printer + AMS Lite). Filaments in the picture are sold separately. ## Tech That Fits Take The A1 quickly became one of the easiest 3D printers to recommend thanks to its combination of print quality, reliability and ease of use. The A2L appears to follow the same formula while addressing one of the biggest limitations of the A1: build size. The optional Cutting Upgrade Kit is arguably the more interesting long-term story. Unlike the A1, the A2L has been designed to support modular tools beyond 3D printing. While it won't replace a dedicated Cricut for everyone, it does bring sticker cutting, plotting and craft-focused workflows into the Bambu ecosystem, potentially reducing the need for a second machine on the workbench. ### ASUS ROG And Xbox Unveil The Limited-Edition Ally X20 With OLED Display And AR Glasses URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/rog-and-xbox-unveil-the-limited-edition-ally-x20-with-oled-display-and-ar-glasses/ Last updated: 2026-06-02T17:07:45.000Z ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the ROG Xbox Ally X20 Bundle, a special edition handheld gaming PC created to celebrate the brand's 20th anniversary. Part of the new ROG Edition 20 collection unveiled at Computex 2026, the bundle combines an upgraded version of the ROG Xbox Ally X with the new ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses. While the transparent black-and-gold design is clearly aimed at collectors, the X20 also introduces some meaningful hardware upgrades, including a larger OLED display and AMD's latest Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/ROG-Xbox-Ally-X20-Bundle-3D-Render-Scenario-Photo_ROG-Wallpaper_Product.png) ### Essentials - Limited-edition ROG 20th anniversary handheld - 7.4-inch Nebula HDR OLED display - AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor - Up to 1400 nits HDR brightness - 120Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium Pro - 24GB LPDDR5X memory - 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD - New TMR joysticks designed to reduce stick drift - Bundle Includes ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses - Runs Windows 11 with Xbox integration and Game Pass support The biggest upgrade is the move to a 7.4-inch Nebula HDR OLED display. ROG says the redesigned screen features slimmer bezels while maintaining the same portable footprint, allowing for a larger viewing area without significantly increasing the size of the handheld. The OLED panel supports HDR with peak brightness of up to 1400 nits, alongside a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision HDR and FreeSync Premium Pro support. Under the hood is AMD's new Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, paired with 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The chip also includes a dedicated NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. ### Designed For Xbox And PC Gaming Like the standard Ally X, the X20 runs Windows 11 and provides access to multiple PC gaming storefronts. ROG says its Xbox mode is designed to simplify navigation and provide access to Xbox Game Pass, Battle.net and other PC gaming platforms through a unified gaming library. The handheld also introduces several hardware refinements, including upgraded TMR joysticks to help reduce stick drift, a redesigned D-pad that can switch between four-way and eight-way inputs, and improved face button ergonomics. ### Included In The Bundle The ROG Xbox Ally X20 Bundle includes: - ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld gaming PC - ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR glasses - 3 months of Xbox Game Pass Premium The included AR glasses function as a wearable large-screen display, allowing users to play games on a virtual display while on the move. ### Pricing And Availability ASUS has announced the ROG Xbox Ally X20 Bundle as part of its Edition 20 anniversary collection, though local pricing and Australian availability have yet to be confirmed. For context, the current ROG Ally X is priced at $1,799 AUD. With upgraded hardware, a collector-focused design and bundled XREAL AR glasses, the Ally X20 is likely to sit at the premium end of the handheld gaming market. ### Tech That Fits Take Limited-edition gaming hardware often focuses on cosmetic changes, but the Ally X20 appears to offer more than just a new paint job. The move to a larger OLED display and the addition of AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor make this a meaningful hardware upgrade over previous Ally models. The inclusion of AR glasses is also an interesting addition. While wearable displays remain a niche category, bundling them with a handheld gaming PC creates a compelling portable gaming setup that could appeal to frequent travellers and enthusiasts looking for a larger screen experience without carrying a monitor. The downside is that the extra hardware is likely to push the price even higher, which may leave some gamers hoping the handheld is eventually offered as a standalone option. ### Oura Ring 5 Gets Thinner, Smarter And More Comfortable To Wear URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/oura-ring-5-gets-thinner-smarter-and-more-comfortable-to-wear/ Last updated: 2026-06-07T06:30:21.000Z Oura has unveiled Oura Ring 5, the latest generation of its popular smart ring. While the company is promising improved sensors and longer battery life, the biggest change may be something much simpler: a thinner, lighter design that's intended to be more comfortable to wear around the clock. The new ring looks familiar at first glance, but Oura says it has redesigned much of the hardware inside. According to the company, Oura Ring 5 is thinner, lighter and available in smaller sizes than previous generations, while also introducing improved sensors and longer battery life. ## What's New? According to Oura, Ring 5 features: - A thinner and lighter design - New-generation sensors with improved accuracy - Smaller size options for a better fit - Up to eight days of battery life - Enhanced sleep, recovery and activity tracking - Improved readiness and health insights through the Oura app The updated design is intended to make the ring more comfortable to wear day and night, particularly for sleep tracking, which remains one of Oura's core strengths. ## Membership Still Required Like previous generations, Oura Ring 5 requires an Oura Membership subscription to unlock its full suite of health insights and analysis. New members receive the first month free, after which membership costs $9.99 AUD per month or $109.99 AUD per year. ## Australian Availability And Pricing Oura Ring 5 is available directly from Oura, as well as through Australian retailers including JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman. Current pricing from the Oura online store is: - Silver: $649 AUD - Black: $649 AUD - Stealth: $799 AUD - Brushed Silver: $799 AUD - Gold: $799 AUD - Deep Rose: $799 AUD Interestingly, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman are currently listing the Stealth finish at $649 AUD, making it the same price as the standard Silver and Black models. For those unsure of their ring size, Oura also offers a sizing kit for $15 AUD. The cost of the kit is then credited towards the purchase of an Oura Ring 5. ## Tech That Fits Take Smart rings have quietly become one of the most interesting categories in wearable technology. While smartwatches continue to add features and grow more complex, Oura has focused on making health tracking less intrusive. The improvements in Ring 5 aren't flashy, but making the device thinner, lighter and more accurate addresses the things that matter most in a product you're expected to wear 24 hours a day. For existing Oura users, this looks like a meaningful upgrade. For newcomers, it's arguably the most polished smart ring currently available. ### Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Review: Great Design, But Not So Hush URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/dyson-hushjet-mini-cool-review-dyson-nailed-the-jet-but-missed-the-hush/ Last updated: 2026-09-10T14:53:17.000Z Portable fans aren't exactly new, but Dyson's HushJet Mini Cool promises something a little different. It's a compact personal fan designed for commuting, travelling, working at a desk or simply staying cool while out and about. After spending time with it around the house, carrying it on walks, using it while working, and even testing it on my dog Shiro after a bath, I came away impressed by the design and accessories. The result is a fan that's easy to admire, but at higher speeds, the noise means it won't be for everyone. ### Essentials - Portable bladeless fan with airflow up to 25m/s in Boost mode - 65,000rpm motor with an anti-vibration mount for quieter running - Battery-powered with up to 6 hours of runtime - Charges via USB-C in around 3 hours - Includes a lanyard, desk stand and travel pouch - Five speed settings plus Boost mode - Two-year warranty ### What's It Actually Like To Live With? The first thing that stands out is how premium the HushJet Mini Cool feels. The build quality is excellent, the materials feel durable, and the size is just right. It's small enough to throw in a bag but large enough to feel comfortable in your hand. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/DysonHushJet-Cool-Hand.JPG) The included accessories also deserve credit. Unlike many portable fans that arrive with little more than a charging cable, Dyson includes a lanyard, desk stand and travel pouch in the box. I expected the lanyard to be a gimmick, but it ended up being actually useful. The fan can hang comfortably around your neck and the nozzle rotates upwards, allowing airflow to be directed straight at your face while moving around. It's the sort of thoughtful design detail Dyson is known for. It would have been a useful product to have during my recent trip to London, where the Underground was a complete sweatbox on more than one occasion. I also found myself wondering whether it would become the next thing for opportunistic thieves to snatch. Dyson has included a safety breakaway mechanism in the lanyard, meaning it separates if pulled forcefully. The desk stand is less essential but still useful, adding stability when using the fan at a desk or bedside table. There's a gap in the design that allows the fan to charge while sitting in the stand. ### Does The *Hush* In HushJet Hold Up? This is where things start to unravel. The HushJet Mini Cool pushes a decent amount of air. Even at moderate settings, it does a good job cooling your face and upper body. Boost mode increases airflow even further, delivering a noticeable blast of air when you need it. Where I found the HushJet less convincing was the noise at higher speeds. At speed settings one and two, however, the fan is generally pleasant to use. The sound is noticeable but not distracting, and for sitting at a desk or using it somewhere quiet these are the speed modes I found myself using. Move into speeds three, four, and five and, unsurprisingly, you get more airflow but the sound also becomes much more noticeable. Rather than the softer airflow sound at the lower settings, there's a higher-pitched noise that I found harder to ignore, particularly when working or taking a phone call. In a busy outdoor environment or on public transport, that may not matter much. In a quiet office, library or shared workspace - it's considerably more noticeable. That's where the HushJet name sets a pretty high expectation on things. At it's lower settings, I think the *Hush* part holds up reasonably well. Turn up the airflow, though, and you'll definitely start to hear more of the *Jet*. That's not necessarily a dealbreaker. There's always going to be a trade off between airflow and noise in something this compact, and the lower settings are likely to be enough in plenty of situations. For a personal fan designed around commuting, travel and use around other people, it's something worth keeping in mind. ### Is The Lanyard Dock Actually Useful? ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/DysonHushJetMiniCool-Lanyard.JPG) The lanyard ended up being one of the most practical parts of the fan. The wearable design initially felt like something I would try once and never use again. Instead, it became one of the more practical ways to use the fan. Being able to wear it around your neck while keeping your hands-free makes sense when walking, commuting or moving around the house. The adjustable airflow direction also means you can point air exactly where you want it. The upcoming Grip Clip and Universal Mount accessories could make the system even more versatile for people who want hands-free cooling. The Grip Clip will allow the fan to attach to clothing or bags, while the Universal Mount is designed for prams, bikes and treadmills. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/UniversalMountandClipGrip.png) Upcoming accessories - universal mount (left) and clip grip (right) ### Build Quality And Durability As expected from Dyson, build quality is excellent. Nothing rattles, creaks or feels flimsy. The controls are simple, the LED battery indicators are easy to understand, and the overall design feels thoughtfully engineered. When switched on, the front LEDs indicate the remaining battery level, while the rear LED flashes red when the battery falls below five percent. The bladeless design also makes cleaning simple and removes the safety concerns associated with exposed fan blades. I even tried using the HushJet Mini Cool to help blow loose fur from Shiro's double coat after a bath. While it couldn’t match the focused airflow of Dyson’s Supersonic hairdryer, it highlighted the fan’s intended purpose. This is very much a personal cooling device rather than a miniature version of Dyson’s haircare products. ### Small Details Worth Knowing Stone/Blush is the official name of the colourway. Most people would probably just call it "pink". The fan itself remains fairly subtle, but the lanyard especially leans into the blush side of the colour scheme. If that's not your style, two additional colours are expected later this year: - Ink/Cobalt - Carnelian/Sky ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/DysonHushJet-Cool-Colours.png) Three colour options: Ink/Cobalt, Carnelian/Sky, and Stone/Blush These options may appeal more to buyers wanting something a little less colourful. Another small quirk is the battery life. Dyson quotes up to six hours of runtime, but that's achieved at the lowest fan setting. Higher speeds reduce runtime significantly, particularly if you're regularly using Boost mode. The good news is that the fan can continue operating at speed one while charging via USB-C. ### Price And Availability The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool costs $169 AUD. At the time of writing, the HushJet Mini Cool is exclusive to Dyson Australia and has been sold out for more than a week. Stone/Blush is the only colourway released so far, with Ink/Cobalt and Carnelian/Sky expected to arrive in mid-June. If you purchase directly from Dyson, the company also offers a 45-day money-back guarantee, giving you plenty of time to decide whether the HushJet Mini Cool is right for you. It's a significant amount of money for a personal fan. The Dyson undoubtedly feels more premium than many competitors. ### Tech That Fits Take The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool is frustrating because it's so close to being easy to recommend. The design is excellent. The accessories are genuinely useful. The cooling performance is strong, and the wearable lanyard system works far better than I expected. But the noise on the higher speeds overshadows some of its greatness. For a product designed to be used on trains, in offices, at cafes and while travelling, the noise of the higher speeds becomes difficult to ignore. That's a little disappointing. If Dyson could reduce the noise without sacrificing airflow, the HushJet Mini Cool would be one of the most compelling portable fans on the market. As it stands, I'd save the $169 - I'd also look at alternatives or make sure you've tested in person before ordering. ### Tineco Launches Three New PURE ONE Stick Vacuums in Australia URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/tineco-launches-three-new-pure-one-stick-vacuums-in-australia/ Last updated: 2026-05-24T12:55:52.000Z Tineco has expanded its Australian cordless vacuum lineup with three new **PURE ONE** stick vacuums, bringing longer battery life, anti-hair wrap brush technology and smart cleaning features across different price points. Presented during Milan Design Week 2026, the **Miele Compact Living: Kitchen Unit powered by Hettich** concept combines a kitchen, dining area and home office into a single multifunctional furniture system. Rather than dedicating separate rooms to different activities, the concept is designed to transform throughout the day, adapting to changing needs. The concept was developed by Miele in collaboration with furniture fittings manufacturer Hettich as an exploration of how kitchens and living spaces might evolve as homes become smaller. ## One Space, Multiple Functions At the heart of the concept is a modular unit that can serve as a workspace, cooking station and dining table. In the morning, it functions as a desk. At lunchtime, adjustable surfaces and integrated appliances create a cooking environment. Later in the day, the same space can transform into a dining area for meals or entertaining. The goal is to make better use of limited floor space by allowing a single area to perform multiple roles rather than dedicating separate rooms to individual activities. Looking for kitchen inspiration? [![CTA Image](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/EssentialGuide-Kitchen1_new2.jpg)](https://www.nts-store.com/collections/essential-guide/products/essential-guide-to-your-kitchen-digital-guide/?ref=techthatfits.net) Never Too Small’s **Essential Guide to Your Kitchen* is packed with practical ideas for layouts, storage and making the most of compact spaces [Get The Guide ](https://www.nts-store.com/collections/essential-guide/products/essential-guide-to-your-kitchen-digital-guide/?ref=techthatfits.net) ## Compact Appliances And Digital Assistance Miele says the concept builds on appliances already designed for smaller homes, including combination oven and microwave units, integrated refrigeration and a steam cooking drawer scheduled to launch in March 2027. Digital features also play an important role. Through the Miele app, users can access recipes, manage shopping lists, synchronise connected appliances and receive guided cooking assistance. According to Miele, the aim is to simplify everyday household tasks while making compact living more practical and enjoyable. ## Designed Around Future Living Beyond functionality, the concept also explores the use of natural materials, tactile surfaces and lighting to create a more comfortable living environment despite the reduced footprint. While the Compact Living system remains a concept rather than a commercial product, it offers an interesting look at how appliance manufacturers are beginning to think beyond individual products and towards broader questions around housing, urbanisation and the future of the home. ## Tech That Fits Take As homes get smaller, every piece of furniture and every appliance needs to work harder. Miele’s Compact Living concept explores what happens when a kitchen, dining table and workspace are combined into a single system. It may only be a concept for now, but the idea of making better use of limited space feels increasingly relevant. --- **Update (June 2026):** If you’d like to see the concept beyond the renderings and press images, Never Too Small has published a walkthrough with Miele Vice President of Design Janina Forberger demonstrating how the system shifts between work, cooking and dining modes. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_02.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_03.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_04.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_05.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_06.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_07.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_08.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_09.jpg) ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/06/2026-034_10.jpg) ### Amazon Launches New Kindle Scribe Lineup, Including Its First Colour Model URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/amazon-launches-new-kindle-scribe-lineup-including-its-first-colour-model/ Last updated: 2026-05-24T15:02:39.000Z Amazon has unveiled a redesigned **Kindle Scribe** lineup, including the **first-ever Kindle Scribe Colorsoft**, bringing colour writing and note-taking to Kindle’s larger productivity-focused e-reader for the first time. Instead of adding another glowing screen to your wrist, Fitbit Air focuses on passive health tracking, comfort and long-term wellness insights. ### Designed to Stay Out of the Way Fitbit Air is Fitbit’s smallest tracker yet, with a low-profile screenless design that sits quietly on the wrist rather than trying to dominate it. Fitbit Air strips things back to passive tracking, pushing deeper insights into the Google Health app instead. It still covers the essentials including: - 24/7 heart rate monitoring - Heart rhythm monitoring with Afib alerts - SpO2 tracking - Resting heart rate - Heart rate variability - Sleep stage tracking - Automatic workout detection …but without needing to constantly interact with a display. Wearable tech that quietly fades into the background is becoming increasingly appealing. ### Designed for 24/7 Wear Comfort is clearly a bit part of the Fitbit Air's design. Google says Fitbit Air weighs just 12g with the band attached, with up to a week of battery life and fast charging that delivers a full day of power in five minutes. Google also positions it as a companion device for Pixel Watch users who may prefer a lighter tracker for sleep. ### Google Health and Coaching Google also announced the new Google Health app, which comes in free and premium tiers. The optional Premium subscription adds Gemini-powered coaching, personalised wellness insights and adaptive workout plans, with Fitbit Air including a three-month trial. ### **B**and Options - **Active Band** \- A sweatproof silicone option aimed at workouts and outdoor activity. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Band_Active.webp) Google Fitbit Air Active Loop band in Lavender, Obsidian, Berry and Fog - **Performance Loop Band** \- A lightweight recycled fabric band included in the box, designed for everyday comfort and breathability. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Band_Performace.webp) Google Fitbit Air Performance Loop band in Lavender, Obsidian, Berry and Fog - **Elevated Modern Band** \- A more fashion-focused bracelet-style option designed to blend in with everyday outfits rather than looking overtly sporty. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Band_Elevated.webp) Google Fitbit Air Elevated Modern Band in Moonstone, Obsidian and Porcelain It’s a subtle shift that makes Fitbit Air feel more like a wearable accessory than a traditional fitness tracker. ### Essentials - Screenless wearable fitness tracker - Advanced heart rate and sleep tracking - Afib alerts and SpO2 monitoring - Automatic workout detection - Up to 7 days battery life - Fast charging - 1 day of power in 5 minutes - Interchangeable band system - Compatible with Android and iOS - Includes 3-month Google Health Premium trial ### Pricing and Availability Fitbit Air is available for pre-order now in Australia for $199 AUD. It will be available through: - Google Store Australia - Harvey Norman - JB Hi-Fi - Officeworks - Telstra ### Tech That Fits Take Fitbit Air keeps the health tracking, but removes many of the distractions that come with modern smartwatches. It quietly collects the health data most people care about, while leaving the coaching side of things up to you. ### MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Stand Review: The Accessory That Never Left My Phone URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/moft-snap-phone-tripod-stand-review-the-accessory-that-never-left-my-phone/ Last updated: 2026-05-21T13:26:56.000Z I didn’t go out looking for this. Someone in Colin’s office had it, then Colin had it, and now it’s been stuck to the back of my phone for the past few months. That probably says more than anything else. The MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Stand is a MagSafe accessory that folds flat against the back of your phone, but flips open into both a stand and a mini tripod. It sounds like a small thing, but after living with it for a while, it’s become one of those accessories I use more than I expected. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/MOFT-Tripod-Back.jpg) ### **Essentials** - **Price:** $59.99 AUD - **Weight:** 85g - **Height:** Approx. 20cm - **Thickness:** Approx. 0.7cm - **Angle adjustment:** 30° to 90° - **Attachment:** MagSafe - **Orientation:** Portrait and landscape - **Colours:** Multiple finishes in MOVAS vegan leather ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/MOFT-Tripod-Stand-Side-by-Side.jpg) ### **Living With It** This is one of those products that doesn’t feel essential until you’ve used it for a while. Most of the time, I’m simply using it as a stand. Watching something on a table, adjusting the angle on a plane, or just getting my phone to sit properly instead of lying flat on a surface. That alone makes it useful, but the tripod part is what makes it properly handy. You can open it up, raise the phone slightly, angle it down, or position it for photos. I’ve been using it with the camera remote on my Apple Watch, which makes it surprisingly practical for quick shots without setting anything up. It works in both portrait and landscape, and it’s sturdy enough that you’re not constantly worried about it tipping over when you tap the screen or adjust it. The best part is that it folds flat enough to leave on your phone full-time, which is exactly what I’ve done. ![MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Stand attached to an iPhone and positioned on a bookshelf in landscape orientation for overhead filming](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Header-Template.jpg) A simple bookshelf setup turns the MOFT Snap Tripod Stand into a handy overhead camera for quick photos and video. ### Worth Knowing The tripod version is the more flexible option, especially if you use your phone for photos, video calls or content creation. If you mostly just want something to prop your phone up on a desk, MOFT also makes a simpler stand version that’s smaller and more compact, but it only offers a few fixed viewing angles. It works best with iPhones or MagSafe-compatible cases, although MOFT includes a metal ring sticker if your current case doesn’t support MagSafe. The magnet itself is strong, so once it’s attached, it stays put. MOFT also offers the Snap Tripod Stand in a range of colours using its MOVAS vegan leather finish, which helps it feel a little less gadget-y than most phone accessories. That said, after about four months of daily use, I did start noticing some fraying and peeling around the edges. Nothing dramatic, but worth mentioning at this price. MOFT offers a 12-month limited warranty on direct orders, and when I reached out, they did offer a replacement, provided I covered the $5 USD shipping cost. Not ideal, but still good to see them stand behind it. It also doubles as a bit of a fidget toy - snapping it on and off the back of hte phone is oddly satisfying. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/MOFT-Tripod-Modes.jpg) Image: MOFT ### Pricing The MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Stand costs **$59.99 AUD**. It’s not cheap for what is essentially a phone stand, but it does replace a few small use cases at once. You can buy it through MOFT’s website and Amazon Australia. MOFT also makes matching wallet, iPad and MacBook accessories, some of which are sold through Apple Stores. ### Verdict The MOFT Snap Phone Tripod Stand is one of those accessories that quietly changes how you use your phone. It’s not essential, and it’s definitely on the expensive side, but once it’s on your phone, it’s surprisingly hard to go back. It makes watching content more comfortable, gives you a quick stand when you need one, and adds just enough tripod flexibility to be genuinely useful. If you take photos, do video calls or regularly prop your phone up at different angles, it makes a lot of sense. If you only need a basic stand occasionally, MOFT’s simpler stand version is probably the better buy. ### Dyson’s New HushJet Mini Cool Is a Wearable Fan You Can Carry Anywhere URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/dysons-new-hushjet-mini-cool-is-a-wearable-fan-you-can-carry-anywhere/ Last updated: 2026-05-19T12:02:35.000Z Dyson has announced the HushJet Mini Cool, its first portable fan designed to be worn, held or placed on a desk. It sits below the flagship range, but carries over one of the company’s bigger recent changes: moving away from spinning mop pads to a single roller design. ### Roller Mopping Instead Of Spinning Pads The T80S OMNI uses ECOVACS’ OZMO Roller 2.0 system, applying up to 3,800Pa of pressure while rotating at 220 RPM. That added pressure is designed to handle more than light surface cleaning, while TruEdge 3.0 extends cleaning coverage closer to walls and corners. In tighter homes and apartments, that edge coverage is usually where the difference becomes more noticeable. ### Adapts To Different Surfaces Automatically The Triple Lift system adjusts depending on what’s detected on the floor: - Carpet: mop lifts and suction increases - Liquid spills: brushes lift to avoid spreading mess - Large debris: side brush lifts to reduce scatter There’s also AI Stain Detection 2.0, which can trigger additional cleaning passes for heavier marks or spills. Suction is rated up to 24,800Pa, alongside ECOVACS’ ZeroTangle 3.0 system designed to reduce hair build-up around the brushes. ### Navigation That Stays Closer To Edges Navigation is handled through AIVI 3D 3.0, using vision-based detection to move around furniture and obstacles while maintaining closer cleaning paths. The robot itself measures 98mm in height, allowing it to fit under most furniture, and can cross thresholds up to 20mm between rooms. ### Hands-Free Maintenance The included OMNI Station handles most of the ongoing maintenance automatically, including: - Hot water mop washing - 63°C hot air drying in around two hours - Auto dustbin emptying for up to 90 days - Mop tray maintenance for up to 150 days The trade-off is the size of the dock itself, which still needs a dedicated spot in the home. ### Australian Pricing And Availability The DEEBOT T80S OMNI is available now in Australia for $1,799 AUD. Available via [JB Hi-Fi](https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/ecovacs-deebot-t80s-omni-vacuum-cleaner?ref=techthatfits.net), [Harvey Norman](https://www.harveynorman.com.au/ecovac-deebot-t80s-omni-robot-vacuum-and-mop-black.html?ref=techthatfits.net), [The Good Guys](https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/ecovacs-deebot-t80s-omni-robotic-vacuum-dex62?ref=techthatfits.net), Bing Lee, [Amazon](https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0GJ5488F7?ref=techthatfits.net), and [ECOVACS](https://www.ecovacs.com/au/deebot-robotic-vacuum-cleaner/deebot-t80s-omni?ref=techthatfits.net). ### Tech That Fits Take This feels like part of ECOVACS’ broader push to bring its newer roller mopping system into lower price tiers. For smaller homes, you don’t always need a flagship robot vacuum. There’s usually less floor area to cover, fewer rooms to manage, and often less day-to-day mess. That’s where something like the T80S OMNI starts to make more sense. The combination of better edge cleaning and reduced maintenance is likely where the difference shows up most in compact spaces. The biggest consideration remains the dock size, which still takes up a noticeable amount of room. If you’re comparing robot vacuums in this category, this sits in the middle tier worth paying attention to, especially if you want the newer roller mopping system without moving up to the most expensive models. ### Xbox FanFest Is Coming to Sydney in 2026 URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/xbox-fanfest-is-coming-to-sydney-in-2026/ Last updated: 2026-05-24T14:25:32.000Z Xbox has confirmed its annual **Xbox Games Showcase** will return on **June 8**, streaming live for Australian viewers at **3am AEST**. But after spending time with them, they’ve found a very clear place in my life: at home. They’re comfortable enough to wear for hours, the noise cancelling is excellent, and if you already live inside Apple’s ecosystem, they’re almost effortless to use. For long listening sessions, late-night Apple TV watching or blocking out everyday background noise around the apartment, they’ve quickly become some of the headphones I reach for most. ### Essentials - **Price:** $999 AUD - **Connection:** Bluetooth, USB-C charging - **Chip:** Apple H2 - **Battery:** Up to 20 hours - **Noise control:** Active Noise Cancellation + Transparency - **Design:** Over-ear aluminium with mesh headband - **Colours:** Multiple finishes including Midnight ### Living With Them I actually bought AirPods Max 2 for comfort. Since moving to a home setup instead of working in an office every day, I wanted something I could wear for long periods without constantly noticing them. That’s exactly how these have ended up being used. I can leave them on for hours without really thinking about it, which isn’t something I get from in-ear headphones over longer sessions. Being over-ear also means my ears get a break compared to wearing earbuds all day. They’ve become especially useful at night. My partner usually goes to sleep a few hours before me, and in a small apartment you become very aware of how much noise you’re making. Instead of turning everything down or worrying about it, I just put these on and keep watching. That’s also where the noise cancelling really earns its place. I keep the balcony open most of the time, so there’s usually some level of city noise in the background. With AirPods Max on, a lot of that just disappears - traffic, the dishwasher, washing machine noise, the usual background hum of apartment living. You’re not completely cut off from the world, but it softens everything enough that you stop noticing it. There’s also a physical button that lets you quickly switch between active noise cancelling and transparency mode, which is one of those small things you end up using constantly. The other part that’s hard to give up once you get used to it is Apple’s ecosystem integration. I’ll be working on my laptop, move to the sofa and start watching something on the Apple TV or iPad, and the headphones just switch across automatically. No pairing menus, no reconnecting, no fuss. If a phone call comes in on my iPhone, they’ll jump over there too. It’s one of those Apple features that sounds minor until you live with it for a while. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/AppleAirpodsMax2-1.JPG) AirPods Max on, new RAYE album on repeat. My partner is safe from hearing the same track 47 times in a row. ### Worth Knowing Design-wise, AirPods Max 2 look almost identical to the original AirPods Max. This version adds USB-C and moves to Apple’s H2 chip, which brings a few worthwhile upgrades behind the scenes: - Stronger active noise cancellation - Improved transparency mode - Better voice isolation for calls - Conversation Awareness - Faster and smoother device switching Apple says the active noise cancelling is up to 1.5x more effective than before, and in day-to-day use it does feel noticeably stronger than in-ear options like AirPods Pro, simply because the over-ear design blocks more noise physically as well. That said, portability still feels like the weak point. At this price, AirPods Max feel a little too precious to casually throw into a bag, especially because Apple’s Smart Case still doesn’t offer much real protection. It does trigger an ultra-low power mode with built-in magnets, but I’d still want a proper hard case if I was travelling with them regularly. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/AppleAirpods-Max2-1.JPG) AirPods Max in their Smart Case, which uses built-in magnets to place the headphones into an ultra-low power mode. ### Pricing AirPods Max 2 are available in Australia for **$999 AUD**. AppleCare+ is available for an additional **$99 AUD**, which includes two years of extended support and accidental damage protection (with a $45 AUD service fee per claim). ### Tech That Fits Verdict AirPods Max 2 are expensive, but they’re also some of the most comfortable headphones I’ve used. The noise cancelling is excellent, they’re incredibly easy to live with inside Apple’s ecosystem, and for home use they’ve quickly earned their place. If you mostly want headphones for long listening sessions, working from home or late-night watching without disturbing anyone else, they’re easy to love. If portability matters, or you want something you can casually throw into a backpack without thinking about it, these are harder to justify. ### Samsung brings AirDrop sharing to Galaxy S26 with Quick Share URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/samsung-brings-airdrop-sharing-to-galaxy-s26-with-quick-share/ Last updated: 2026-05-27T14:05:15.000Z Samsung is bringing AirDrop-style sharing to the Galaxy S26 series through an update to Quick Share. The rollout begins on 23rd March in Korea, with more regions including Europe, North America, Japan and Southeast Asia set to follow. It’s launching first on the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra, with support for more devices expected later. To use it, users will need to enable a new “Share with Apple devices” toggle inside Quick Share settings. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Samsung-S26-AirDrop.gif) ****Settings > Connected Devices > Quick Share > Share With Apple Devices** Australia hasn’t been specifically listed yet, but based on previous Samsung rollouts, local availability will likely follow shortly after the initial launch markets. ### A Small Change That Solves A Big Frustration Sharing files between Android and Apple devices has always been awkward, especially in mixed-device households where sending photos or videos often means falling back to cloud storage, messaging apps or email. This update doesn’t fully unify the ecosystems, but it does make sending files between Galaxy phones and Apple devices much simpler. It also signals a broader shift across the Android ecosystem. Google has already started moving in this direction with Pixel devices, and Samsung adopting it makes cross-platform sharing feel less like a workaround and more like a standard feature going forward. ### Powerbeats Pro 2 get a Nike Special Edition in Volt Green URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/powerbeats-pro-2-get-a-nike-special-edition-in-volt-green/ Last updated: 2026-05-27T14:08:56.000Z Apple and Nike have teamed up on a special edition version of the Powerbeats Pro 2, adding a bold Volt and black finish to Beats’ workout-focused earbuds. The Nike Special Edition launches globally on 20th March via Nike, Apple and selected Apple Stores, priced at $399.95 AUD. ### What’s New With The Nike Special Edition This isn’t a new product. Instead, it’s a redesigned version of the existing Powerbeats Pro 2, which originally launched in February 2025. The update is focused entirely on design and branding, with several Nike-inspired visual changes: - Volt and black colourway featuring Nike’s signature bright yellow-green shade - Nike Swoosh on the right earbud, Beats “b” logo on the left - First time Beats hardware has shared branding with another company - “Just Do It” printed inside the charging case - Volt splatter finish on the charging case The earbuds still include the same fitness-focused features as the standard Powerbeats Pro 2, including heart rate tracking and integration with apps like Nike Run Club. For most buyers, the biggest difference here will simply be the design. ### Volt Green And Impossible To Miss The Volt finish is instantly recognisable. Depending on who you ask, it looks somewhere between electric lime, highlighter yellow and tennis ball green. Either way, these are not subtle earbuds. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/nike-powerbeats-pro-2-image.jpg) ### Regular Colours Still Available If the Nike styling isn’t for you, the standard Powerbeats Pro 2 are still available in: - Jet Black - Quicksand - Hyper Purple - Electric Orange The Nike Special Edition Powerbeats Pro 2 will be available from 20th March for $399.95 AUD, exclusively online via Apple. ### Samsung exhibits "Design is an Act of Love" to Milan Design Week 2026, exploring the human side of technology URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/samsung-exhibits-design-is-an-act-of-love-to-milan-design-week-2026-exploring-the-human-side-of-technology/ Last updated: 2026-05-19T08:43:37.000Z Samsung Electronics is set to showcase a new exhibition at Milan Design Week 2026 titled "Design is an Act of Love," exploring what it calls the human side of technology. The installation takes the form of a Samsung Design Open Lab - a space designed for experimentation rather than a traditional product showcase. Visitors will move through a mix of experimental concepts and current Samsung products, offering a glimpse into how early ideas evolve into everyday technology. Rather than focusing on specs or new launches, the exhibition is positioned as a look at direction - how design can make technology feel more personal, emotional and better integrated into daily life. It also builds on what was shown earlier this year at CES 2026, where Samsung's vision of AI was framed around "companions for everyday life." Milan feels like the design layer of that idea - less about the technology itself, and more about how it fits into real homes and daily routines. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Samsung-Corporate-Design-Milan-Design-Week-2026-Design-is-an-Act-of-Love_main2-1.jpg) As part of the program, Samsung will also host a Design Talk session with Dezeen on April 22, exploring the evolving relationship between design and humanity. For Milan Design Week, it's the kind of installation that's less about products, and more about where design and technology are heading. ### Apple Announces AirPods Max 2 with H2 Chip, Better Noise Cancelling and Live Translation URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/apple-announces-airpods-max-2-with-h2-chip-better-noise-cancelling-and-live-translation/ Last updated: 2026-06-09T05:49:49.000Z Apple has announced AirPods Max 2, updating its premium over-ear headphones with the H2 chip and several new software features. The original AirPods Max launched in 2020 with Apple's H1 chip and a Lightning port. In 2024 Apple refreshed the headphones with a USB-C charging port, but the internal hardware remained largely the same. The new 2026 AirPods Max 2 keep the same overall design again, but introduce the H2 chip, bringing several features that have previously already appeared in the latest AirPod Pros. ### Key upgrades The H2 chip enables several new listening features: - Adaptive Audio - automatically balances noise cancelling and transparency depending on the environment - Conversation Awareness - lowers music volume when you begin speaking to someone nearby - Voice Isolation - improves voice clarity during calls - Live Translation - translates conversations in real time using Apple Intelligence - Personalised Volume - adjusts listening levels based on your listening habits Apple says the new model also delivers up to 1.5x more effective Active Noise Cancellation compared with the original AirPods Max. Transparency mode has also been improved so outside sounds feel more natural when listening. ### Sound improvements AirPods Max 2 include a new high dynamic range amplifier, which Apple says delivers cleaner audio and more detailed sound. The headphones support 24-bit, 48 kHz lossless audio when connected with the included USB-C cable. Apple says this allows musicians and creators to record and mix using Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking in apps like Logic Pro. Wireless audio latency has also been reduced, which should improve gaming and video playback. ### Connectivity and battery AirPods Max 2 support Bluetooth 5.3, an upgrade from Bluetooth 5.0 on the original AirPods Max. Battery life remains up to 20 hours of listening with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, unchanged from previous models. ### Colours AirPods Max 2 will be available in: - Midnight - Starlight - Orange - Purple - Blue ### Price and availability AirPods Max 2 start at $999 AUD. Orders open 26th March, with retail availability expected in early April. ### Eero Pro 7 Review: Fast Wi-Fi Without the Router Headache URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/eero-pro-7-review-fast-wi-fi-without-the-router-headache/ Last updated: 2026-05-21T13:54:34.000Z When the NBN speed upgrades rolled out in late 2025, it was a good reminder that the router sitting inside your home matters more than people think. Routers are often treated as something you set up once and forget about, but faster internet plans, more connected devices and regular security updates mean they play a much bigger role in day-to-day performance than they used to. That’s where the Eero Pro 7 comes in. Amazon’s latest Wi-Fi 7 mesh router is designed to keep up with faster NBN plans while staying simple enough to manage without needing to think too much about networking. ### Essentials - **Price:** $529.99 AUD (single) / $1,199.99 AUD (3-pack) - **Wi-Fi standard:** Wi-Fi 7 - **Coverage:** Up to 190m² per node - **Ports:** 2 Ethernet ports - **Smart home:** Matter, Thread and Zigbee support - **Setup:** App-based installation and management - **Extras:** Optional Eero Plus subscription ### Living With It My apartment is only 43m², so in pure coverage terms, a single Eero Pro 7 is already overkill. But coverage is only part of the equation. I was mainly looking for a stable network across multiple devices, including laptops, tablets, gaming consoles and smart home gear. I also wanted something that would stay relevant for years as faster NBN plans and Wi-Fi 7 devices become more common. Setup is one of the Eero system’s biggest strengths. Everything happens through the Eero app. Plug in the router, open the app, and it walks you through the entire process step by step. There’s no digging through browser menus or logging into a router using an IP address just to change a setting. Once running, the app becomes one of the best parts of the experience. You can see every connected device, rename them properly, run speed tests, pause internet access, troubleshoot issues and check firmware updates. The activity view is especially useful. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Eero-App-Screenshot.jpeg) If something suddenly feels slow, it’s easy to open the app and see what else is using bandwidth. More than once, I’ve discovered an iPad quietly updating apps in the background while something else on the network starts lagging. That kind of visibility makes the system feel much easier to manage. I also always enable the guest network, which creates a separate Wi-Fi connection for visitors without giving them access to smart home devices, shared files or the rest of the home network. Like many apartments, mine doesn’t give me a lot of flexibility with router placement. I initially tucked the router inside the TV cabinet to keep things tidy, but after noticing it was getting quite warm, I moved it out into the open for better airflow and ventilation. ### Worth Knowing Mesh Wi-Fi systems use multiple nodes to improve coverage and reduce dead zones, but in smaller homes or apartments, a single Eero unit will often be enough. One useful tip is to look at bundled ISP deals before buying outright. Several Australian providers now offer Eero routers with NBN plans, sometimes subsidised or bundled with a complimentary Eero Plus subscription. In my case, I actually bought the three-pack knowing my apartment only needed one unit, then split the bundle with two friends. That ended up being a much more affordable way for all of us to move to Wi-Fi 7. Eero Plus is the optional subscription service, adding: - Network-level ad blocking - Security filtering - Family controls - Enhanced troubleshooting tools - Hotspot backup The hotspot backup feature is particularly clever. If your home internet drops out, you can connect a 4G or 5G hotspot and keep the entire network running without needing to reconnect every device individually. The Eero Pro 7 also works well in smart homes. It supports Matter and Thread, and can act as a Thread border router for compatible smart devices like sensors, switches and lights. If you use Amazon Alexa, it can also function as a Zigbee hub for certain devices. ## **Limitations** The biggest limitation is the Ethernet ports. There are only two. One is used for your internet connection, which leaves just one spare wired port for devices like gaming consoles, TVs or hubs. That can feel restrictive quickly. If you need more wired ports, the easiest fix is to add a network switch, which can expand that single port into several more for around $50 AUD. You can also add another Eero node, which gives you extra Ethernet ports and improves Wi-Fi coverage at the same time. The other downside is price. At over $500 for a single router, this sits firmly in premium territory. And while Amazon’s Eero Max 7 solves some of these limitations with more ports, it jumps to $1,099.99 AUD for a single unit, which feels hard to justify for most homes. ### Pricing The Eero Pro 7 costs $529.99 AUD for a single unit, or $1,199.99 AUD for a three-pack. That’s expensive compared to many standard routers, but ISP bundle deals and occasional sales can help reduce the cost. If you live in an apartment or smaller home, a single unit will likely be enough. ### Verdict The Eero Pro 7 is a premium Wi-Fi 7 router that keeps up with faster NBN plans while staying refreshingly simple to manage. Its biggest strength is the Eero app, which makes everyday network management far easier than traditional routers. At $529.99 AUD, it’s not cheap, and the limited Ethernet ports may frustrate people with lots of wired devices. But if you want fast, future-ready Wi-Fi without the usual router headaches, the Eero Pro 7 strikes a strong balance between performance, simplicity and everyday practicality. ### TheraFace Mask Glo review - a lightweight LED face mask that fits easily into a daily routine URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/theraface-mask-glo-review-a-lightweight-led-face-mask-that-fits-easily-into-a-daily-routine/ Last updated: 2026-05-21T12:57:38.000Z Lately I’ve been paying more attention to wellness technology that works at home, especially devices designed to support skincare and recovery without clinic visits. As I get older, I’ve also started thinking more about long-term skin health and practical ways to build those habits into everyday life. That’s where the TheraFace Mask Glo makes sense. It combines red, infrared and blue LED light therapy in a lightweight cordless design, with short 12-minute treatment sessions that make it easier to use regularly without feeling like a chore. ### Essentials - **Price:** $499 AUD - **Weight:** 514g - **Treatment time:** 12 minutes - **LED lights:** 504 - **Light modes:** Red, infrared and blue - **Charging:** USB-C - **Fit:** Dual adjustable headstrap - **Extras:** Removable eye shield, temple vibration motors ### Living With It One of the first things you notice about the TheraFace Mask Glo is how lightweight it feels compared to many LED masks. Some can feel bulky or rigid, but this one is light enough that it doesn’t feel like a chore to put on a few times a week. Therabody’s second-generation redesign helps here. The original TheraFace Mask used more LEDs, but the newer Glo version reduces the LED count slightly and so runs a longer 12-minute treatment session instead. The mask uses a cordless dual headstrap system, with straps running over the top and across the back of your head. Once adjusted, it stays in place well without shifting. Personally, I tend to use it as a short break during the day rather than walking around with it on. I’ll usually close my eyes, lie back and let the 12-minute session become a forced pause in the middle of the day. That has actually become part of the appeal. The mask itself doesn’t get hot, although if you’re breathing heavily inside it, it can start to feel a little warm during longer use. USB-C charging is also a small but welcome convenience. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/IMG_3281.jpeg) Unboxing the TheraFace Mask Glo - contains the mask, head-strap, removable eye shield, USB-C charging cable ### Treatment Modes The mask combines three types of LED light therapy: - **Red light:** Aimed at supporting skin firmness and reducing wrinkles - **Infrared light:** Designed to support collagen production and skin repair - **Blue light:** Commonly used to target acne-causing bacteria In practice, I suspect most people will spend most of their time using the red and infrared modes, which tend to be the focus for general skin maintenance and anti-ageing routines. You can also skip treatments easily using the button on the side of the mask. ### Worth Knowing The mask includes two small vibration motors in the headband that provide a gentle temple massage during use. The good news is you can turn this off, which is what I tend to do. The buzzing sits quite close to your ears, and I found it more distracting than relaxing. Once disabled, the whole experience feels calmer. The box it comes in is fairly bulky, but the mask itself doesn’t feel delicate at all. I’ve been storing mine in a repurposed Aesop drawstring bag, though it could just as easily be tucked into a sock drawer or cupboard without worrying about it getting damaged. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Theraface-Glo-RedBlue-Lights.jpg) Three types of LED built into the mask - red, infrared and blue light. ### Results I’ve been using the mask for a couple of months, usually around three times a week. LED masks are not instant miracle devices, but with regular use I did notice my skin feeling smoother and calmer, with fewer red patches. Overall, my skin tone now looks a little more even. The 12-minute sessions make it much easier to stick with the routine consistently. And with this kind of skincare technology, consistency is really the whole point. ### Pricing The TheraFace Mask Glo has an RRP of **$499 AUD**. Like a lot of consumer wellness tech, it’s often discounted during retail sales, and I’ve regularly seen promotions taking $50 to $100 AUD off. It’s available directly from Therabody, as well as retailers including JB Hi-Fi and David Jones. ### Verdict The TheraFace Mask Glo is a well-designed LED face mask that makes light therapy feel easier to stick with at home. It’s lightweight, simple to use and doesn’t feel overly clinical, which makes it far more likely to become part of a regular routine instead of ending up forgotten in a cupboard. At $499 AUD, it’s not cheap, and LED therapy still depends on consistent long-term use rather than instant results. But if you’re looking for an at-home LED mask that feels easy enough to actually use regularly, the TheraFace Mask Glo strikes a smart balance between performance and comfort. ### espresso Pro 15 Review: A Flexible Second Screen for Small Spaces URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/reviews/espresso-pro-15-review-a-flexible-second-screen-for-small-spaces/ Last updated: 2026-05-21T11:13:50.000Z Earlier this year I gave up my office and started rethinking how my workspace fits into the apartment. I needed more screen space, but not something that would permanently take over the dining table. I tried a few options. Moving my office monitor worked, but its size dominated the table even when it wasn’t in use. I also tried running a Mac mini through the TV, which sounded good in theory, but the posture was poor and the distance made it hard to work comfortably. The espresso Pro 15 solved that problem nicely. It’s a 15.6-inch 4K portable touchscreen monitor that runs from a single USB-C cable, paired with the magnetic espresso Stand+. When I’m finished working, the whole setup packs away in seconds. ### **Essentials** - **Display:** 15.6-inch LCD touchscreen - **Resolution:** 4K (3840 × 2160) at 60Hz - **Brightness:** 550 nits - **Colour:** 1.07 billion colours (100% Adobe RGB) - **Connection:** USB-C single cable with power passthrough - **Touch support:** macOS and Windows - **Build:** Aluminium chassis - **Audio:** Built-in speakers ### **Living With It** I’d seen Espresso displays in JB Hi-Fi before, but it wasn’t until I tried one in the American Express lounge in Las Vegas on the way back from CES 2026 that it clicked. The stand system immediately impressed me, but the older model’s large lower bezel stood out. If you run two screens side by side, that thicker bottom edge feels slightly awkward. The espresso Pro 15 improves this significantly, with a slimmer black bezel and no visible logo, making it feel much cleaner alongside a laptop. Setup is exactly what espresso promises. Plug in a single USB-C cable and the display works immediately. For basic use, that’s really all you need. Installing espressoFlow software improves the experience with easier screen rotation, smoother cursor movement between displays and more flexible arrangements, but the monitor works fine without it. Most of the time, I run the Pro 15 beside my 14-inch MacBook Pro, which feels like a very natural pairing. When travelling during Chinese New Year earlier this year, I switched to a vertical stacked setup, placing the espresso display above my laptop. Hotel desks are often tiny, so having the option to stack screens turned out to be surprisingly useful. That flexibility is one of the best parts of the system. And when I’m done working, the whole thing disappears. That matters more than I expected. ### **Display Quality** The 15.6-inch 4K panel looks sharp and bright in everyday use. Text is crisp and comfortable for long working sessions, and colours look excellent. The glossy finish does introduce some reflections, but unless you’re sitting in direct sunlight it hasn’t been much of a problem. I was initially a little worried about the 60Hz refresh rate, but in practice it hasn’t mattered much. If I’m doing anything where refresh rate matters, I simply keep that window on my MacBook Pro display. ### **Stand+ and Portability** The espresso Stand+ is one of the best parts of the system. It uses a magnetic mount and allows the display to be positioned in several configurations, whether side-by-side, stacked vertically or adjusted at different viewing angles. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Espresso-Pro15-Stand-1.jpg) The stand itself feels stable, and the only times I’ve knocked the screen off were when I didn’t align the magnet properly in the centre. One of the biggest practical wins is the single-cable setup. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Espresso-Pro15-Stand2.jpg) The display draws power directly from the connected laptop, which means there’s no separate power brick or messy cable setup. The trade-off is battery drain. At full brightness it pulls around 13 watts, so longer sessions away from power will drain your laptop faster. Still, I’d much rather deal with that than carry another charger. ### **Worth Knowing** The touchscreen works well, but in reality it’s not something I use very often. Most of the time, I simply treat the espresso Pro 15 as a traditional second monitor. The built-in speakers are also fairly forgettable. They’re fine for the occasional notification sound, but realistically you’ll just use your laptop speakers. Espresso sells a range of optional accessories, including cases, screen protectors, privacy filters and stylus pens. I bought the case, and honestly, it’s hard not to feel like it should be included at this price. It’s well designed, holds both the display and Stand+ together neatly, and makes the whole setup easier to travel with. But because it feels so essential, it’s hard to see it as a genuine optional extra. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Espresso-Pro15-Case1-1.jpg) espresso Case Nylon ### **Downsides** The biggest downside is the price. Portable 4K monitors are still expensive, and features like touchscreen support may add cost for something many people rarely use. Durability could also be better. I dropped the display once and chipped the casing slightly, exposing the metal underneath. A quick Sharpie fix hid the mark, but it’s not ideal. And after living with it for a while, I actually wish I had bought the 17-inch version instead. The 15-inch model works beautifully with a 14-inch laptop, but the larger version would offer more usable screen space for my mostly home-based setup. I originally bought the 15-inch thinking I’d spend more time moving between cafés and co-working spaces. In reality, I’ve mostly used it at home, where the larger display probably would have made more sense. ### **Pricing** The espresso Pro 15 costs **$1,099 AUD**. ### **Verdict** The espresso Pro 15 is a clever solution for people who want more screen space without committing to a permanent desk monitor. If you work from cafés, travel frequently, or live in a small apartment where a full-size monitor doesn’t make sense, it’s an excellent option. The sharp 4K panel, flexible stand design and simple single-cable setup make it surprisingly easy to live with. At $1,099 AUD, it’s expensive, and features like the touchscreen may go unused for some people. Cheaper portable monitors are out there, but the espresso Pro 15 makes a strong case for itself with a sharp 4K panel, clever stand system and a setup that's genuinely flexible to live with. ### Cricut Joy 2 and Explore 5 are here - and they're smaller than ever URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/cricut-joy-2-and-explore-5-are-here-and-theyre-smaller-than-ever/ Last updated: 2026-05-27T14:22:37.000Z Cricut has launched two new cutting machines in Australia - the Cricut Joy 2 and the Cricut Explore 5 - both available from 6 March 2026. They cover the most common projects, are easier to live with in smaller spaces, and lower the barrier to getting started without needing a full crafting setup. ### Dyson announces ultraslim PencilWash URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/dyson-announces-ultraslim-pencilwash/ Last updated: 2026-05-27T14:00:47.000Z The **Dyson PencilWash** is Dyson’s slimmest and lightest wet floor cleaner yet, designed specifically for compact homes with hard floors. It follows the earlier Dyson PencilVac, expanding Dyson’s pencil-thin design into wet cleaning. > “Our slimmest, ultra-light format that glides effortlessly and reaches where others can’t... It brings the simplicity of a broom together with the precision and power from Dyson engineering.” > > **John Churchill, Chief Technology Officer, Dyson** ### Made For Tight Spaces The PencilWash is engineered around manoeuvrability. In compact apartments, bulky mop vacs can become a compromise. They clean the floor, but they also take up storage space many homes simply don’t have. Key design details include: - Handle diameter: 3.8cm - Weight: 2.2kg total - Weight in hand: 0.38kg - Lays flat to 170 degrees - Cleans under furniture as low as 15cm The 3.8cm handle is unusually slim for a powered wet cleaner and feels closer to holding a broom than a traditional floor washer. At 170 degrees lay-flat, it can slide under beds, sofas and low furniture without needing to move everything out of the way. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Dyson-PencilWash---Flexability.png) Dyson's PencilWash is highly manoeuvrable - it lies to a flat 170 degrees to clean hard to reach spaces ### How The PencilWash Cleans Unlike many wet floor cleaners, the PencilWash is completely filter-free. Most wet cleaners rely on sponge-style filters that can trap moisture and dirt over time, leading to odours and reduced performance. Dyson has removed the filter entirely, with cleaning handled through three systems: - Hydration - Agitation - Extraction A high-density microfibre roller, packed with 64,000 filaments per square centimetre, spins rapidly to lift both wet spills and dry debris at the same time. Dirty water is extracted on every rotation, while an eight-point hydration system continuously supplies fresh water to the roller. Two hydration modes allow users to adjust water flow depending on whether they are cleaning light kitchen spills or heavier messes. The smaller design does come with some compromises. With a 300ml clean water tank and up to 30 minutes of runtime, the PencilWash appears aimed more at apartments and smaller hard floor homes rather than large family houses. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/93/a7/93a7a6bd-013f-4185-a4f5-e4416505cd2b/content/images/2026/05/Dyson-PencilVax---Microfibre-Head.png) ### Detailed Specs - Clean water tank: 300ml - Dirty water tank: 360ml - Floor coverage: up to 100m² - Runtime: up to 30 minutes - Charge time: 3.5 hours - Weight: 2.2kg - Size: 26.7cm (L) × 19.8cm (W) × 115.8cm (H) ### Release Date And Pricing - UK: Available now for £299.99 - Australia: $549 AUD ### Lego Smart Play brings your creations to life URL: https://www.techthatfits.net/news/lego-smart-play-brings-your-creations-to-life/ Last updated: 2026-05-27T14:29:51.000Z Lego has unveiled its new Smart Play system at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, introducing bricks, tags and minifigures with built-in sensors and a tiny speaker that respond to how they are played with. ### How Lego Smart Play Works At the centre of the system is the LEGO Smart Brick, a brick-sized module that brings builds to life during play. The Smart Brick is packed with technology, including accelerometers, light and sound sensors, and a miniature speaker with an onboard synthesiser that generates audio effects in response to how the build is played with. The platform also includes Smart Tags and Smart Minifigures, which carry digital identifiers that the Smart Brick can recognise. This allows builds to respond to specific characters, objects or actions in real time. Multiple Smart Bricks can communicate with each other wirelessly, allowing larger builds to react dynamically as scenes are played out. The system is designed to blend into the existing LEGO brick system and works without the need for a screen or controller. ### First Smart Play Sets The first sets launching with the platform are part of the LEGO Star Wars range: - LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Luke's Red Five X-Wing - $149.99 AUD - LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Darth Vader's TIE Fighter - $99.99 AUD - LEGO Star Wars SMART Play: Throne Room Duel & A-Wing - $249.99 AUD All sets release March 1, 2026. ### Tech That Fits Take For Tech That Fits readers, what's interesting here isn't just the toy itself. It's the design philosophy. Lego is experimenting with embedded, almost invisible technology - something that reacts to the real world instead of pulling attention into another screen. If it works, Lego Smart Play could become a platform that quietly blends physical creativity with responsive tech, expanding the classic brick system without changing what people love about it. I'd also be curious to see whether Lego eventually opens the system up to interact with smart home platforms. Imagine placing a Lego mini-figure onto a baseplate and having your desk lamp turn on, or launching a Lego spaceship through the air that triggers a lighting scene in your room.
